Yeah, yeah, this is a Stardock forum and we all hate Steam, blah blah...
Anyway, lots of specials like last year for those who have been on the fence about various titles. Most titles on the site are 10-90% off.
Some notable stuff today:
Super Meat Boy $3.75 (why isn't this game on Impulse at all?!)
Various Indie Game packs for $5 each (5 games per pack)
CivIV Complete $6.25(!)
Evil Genius $1.50
Serious Sam HD 1&2 $7.50
Valve Complete Pack $25
And this is day 1. I'd love to support Impulse here, but the total Christmas sale they've had this month so far has sucked compared to one day of Steam offers.
Hope you enjoy it! I tried it, but the shooter mechanics of it seemed kinda bland and uninteresting so I couldn't really get into it.
Section 8 is 4.99 bucks to me. Moun&Blade's pack is 9.99 bucks to me. But Crysis' Pack is about 15 bucks to me, though.
edit:
Today's deals :
Dead Space - $6.80 Plants Vs Zombies Game of the Year Edition - $4 Swords and Soldiers - $2.50 Kane and Lynch 2 - $4.99 Brothers In Arms series - Save 50 percent off all games in series Hearts of Iron III Complete Pack (game plus all DLC) - $14.10 City of Heroes Going Rogue Complete Collection - $10 Greed Corp - $2.50 The Quake Collection (all games in series except Quake IV and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) - $10.20 Sniper Ghost Warrior - $7.50 The Ball - $4.99 Amnesia The Dark Descent - $6.80 or $4.80 if you own any game in the Penumbra series.
As for me, I'm waiting for Object Desktop and GalCiv II to go on sale....but waiting has proved so difficult.
It has indeed.
picked up greed corp for $2.50 today. Nice!
Neither. I'm from the Philippines.
Edit: Just saw Amnesia's trailers and I think I just soiled my undies. >.< That is some pretty intense stuff for 7 bucks. Hell, a new pair of undies costs less, but then I'd be needing more than a pair...
Also, the Brothers In Arms series is going at 75% off for me. 9.99 bucks for the entire pack.
yeah - i own amnesia already. Play it in the dark, preferably loud or with good headphones on. Solid game.
Latest deals :
Grand Theft Auto IV + Episodes from Liberty City - $10 Singularity - $24.99 Star Trek Online Digital Deluxe Edition - $7.50 Grand Ages Rome series - Save 80 percent off all games in series R.U.S.E. - $33.49 The Elder Scrolls IV Game Of The Year Edition - $9.99 Hegemony: Phillip of Macedon - $3 Transformers War for Cybertron - $19.99 Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - $29.99 Europa Universalis III Complete - $5 Shatter - $2.50 Left 4 Dead 2 - $6.79 or $4.99 if you own Left 4 Dead 1
War for Cybertron is a well done game if you like Transformers.. but as fun as the multiplayer is (and it is), the PC MP population would be pretty negligible The campaign is pretty epic, but it doesn't last over 10 hours or so.
I'd like to pick up transformers and singularity, but the prices aren't low enough yet imo. I'll be waiting around on those for another sale. Next year looks good
Current deals :
Far Cry 2 Fortune's Edition - $4.99 Command and Conquer games - Save 75 percent off all games in series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl/Call of Pripyat bundle - $4.99 Star Wars Dark Forces/Jedi Knight collection - $5 for all five games in series Empire/Napoleon Total War Game of the Year Edition - $24.99 or $19.99 if you own Medieval Total War or Rome Total War Dawn of Discovery Gold Edition - $14.99 Supreme Commander 2 - $3.74 Flight Control HD - $1.70 Theatre of War - Save 75 percent off all games in series Team Fortress 2 - $5 The Hitman Collection - $5 for three-game bundle (Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman Blood Money) Guardians of Graxia - $2.4
Empire: Total War seems enticing...but my max screen resolution is 1600x900.
Is Dawn of Discovery any good?
How about Supreme Commander?
And when will Impulse place Object Desktop & GalCiv II on sale? I've been waiting and waiting and waiting...each night at midnight I check and check and check and yet nothing.
-.-
There's a demo out for Dawn of Discovery that should give you a reasonable feel for it. In the end I decided it wasn't a game for me, but I can see how some people might really like it.
If you care about such things, Dawn of Discovery has Tages on it with a 3 machine limit.
Civ IV is looking to be worth the $6 I paid for it. I played IV when it first came out, but now they've got all the expansions and patches. Looks like the enhancements are mostly "you spoke we listened" type things. It's pretty fun now. The problem is just that the fun is spread out over many, many hours, like all the Civ series are. You sure burn a lot of your life to see how all your strategic decisions pan out. I think I like how Sins of a Solar Empire:Diplomacy does it--it's real-time strategy, but the tech tree is long and elaborate and the games can take 3 hours (which is still a lot less than the 36 hours it takes to play a good Civ IV game). SoaSE:Diplomacy never quite hit the bullseye on the tech tree, but I like where that was going better.
Company of Heroes series - Save 75 percent off all games in series Football Manager 2011 - $26.79 Zeno Clash - $3.75 Medal of Honor - $29.99 Swarm Arena - $2.50 Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga - $19.99 Half-Life series - Save 75 percent off all games in series or 85 percent if you own Left 4 Dead 1 or Left 4 Dead 2. The Settlers 7 - $24.99 AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity - $2.50 Bionic Commando Pack (Bionic Commando/Bionic Commando Rearmed) - $12.49 Mafia 2 - $12.49
Dear Impulse sales....,
Help me help you, yes?
(GalCiv II Ultimate, Sins Trinity, Object Desktop)
For the last day I'd hoped they'd do something special. Instead it's just a repeat of some of the previous deals . Ah well I got a few cheap ones and didn't spend as much as I had on their previous sales so it's good news for my pocket I guess!
Impulse still has one more day of its holiday sale (ends 3 Jan).
I have checked it every night these past two weeks to see what's newly low.
But sadly, none of my fav 3 made it to the low.
One more day I guess.
I hope that at least 1 of my 3 picks will go on sale...all 3 of them could (and would with the simple a keystroke), but very unlikely all in one day.
Otherwise I'll keep waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
...and waiting.
yeah - disappointing finish, but overall the sale was good.
