I haven't gotten a response from blizzard and I've been on hold for an hour with blizzard's tech support SO I figured since everyone here seems like they know at least a little bit about computers I'd ask here.
I downloaded WC3:Reign of Choas and the expansion The Frozen Thrown from battle.net. I've tried to install WC3:RoC numerous times and recieve the same error messages:
The file "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III.temp" could not be renamed to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III". (ConflictManager::ResolveConflicts/1) The folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Warcraft III.a110b291.temp\Movies.temp" could not be deleted. (ConflictManager::UncreateObjects) The folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Warcraft III.a110b291.temp" could not be deleted. (ConflictManager::UncreateObjects) I have looked online for suggestions. So far I've tried in various combinations running the downloader and the installer in admin mode. I've tried allowing permission(in properties) to the folders involved. I've created specific folders and put all the files in these folders and tried admin mode/permissions/sharing. I tried completely turning off UAC. I unchecked Read only for the various folders/files(though here its got a blue box in the check box and if I make sure the blue box in the box or a check is NOT there and click apply, then close, and bring the properties back up the blue box in a box is there for Read Only again and again). I'm using Windows 7 64bit. So anyone have any suggestions? Sort of pissed that I bought it and it won't even install and I'm not recieving a response.

Sounds to me like their installer and your system aren't getting along. Since you've already tried fiddling with running in admin mode and privileges, the only thing I can think of is to disable your anti-virus during install. I have no idea what Blizzard is doing in the background with their installer (these days, installing is almost never the only thing they're doing...) and this wouldn't be the first time an anti-virus gave a false-positive on a Blizzard program.
Figured it out. Well, as how these things normally go, a few mintues after I posted I got a blizzard tech support person. Needed to install the game in safemode with networking. Tra-la!
Did you remember to hold your right big toe and squint slightly while clicking the install button? Otherwise you won't unlock the bonus content.
Ugg, I bet you could have gotten around all that by installing it directly into C:, rather than program files x86. But hey, go scripted tech-support, no?
You forgot that it must be the 2nd thursday of the month...
Glad I never cared for Warcraft. That Dune engine got old fast.
Nope, didn't work. Tried directly to the CD drive. Well a folder I created C:\Warcraft3
Actually it wasn't scripted. At least didn't seem to be, but the person i got also plays WC3 so dunno about the rest. And he was an american or could fake an american accent tremendously well.
There's your problem, Warcraft 3 was a drop from the 2
Windows 7 has and Administrator privilege bug. Even if you are the administrator, you are not. Some folders you cannot share files from. Impossile to remove or change security. Even if you modify security, other parts of the operating system do not recognize what you did.
Install off the root directory c:New, c:anything, c:warcraft. Note, this is somehow less safe.
Warcraft III AI - extreme lag. Windows 7 is a poor manager of memor like all the other Windows products except MS-DOS and Windows XP. DO NOT put AI player in your multi-player game. It will freeze the game for like 10 seconds every 15 seconds. This is not a Blizzard bug. The game works fine. This is a 'Microsoft doesn't play well with others' bug. Win7 32, 64, 64 with 32 emulator doesn't matter. Bugged. Stay away from multi-player and AI players in the same match and you'll be fine.
Is that true? Windows 7 having that bug?
I've experienced that AI slowdown bug myself (really is unplayable when it happens), but I was unaware that it was an issue on the Windows side, and a cursory Google search cannot find any corroborating data.
The less people can play it. The less people buy it. Heck! The bug is almost gone now since we don't even remember what it was. Nope never happened. No corroborating data. War...what?
OH! You know, if you can't play WarCraftIII because it's all broken, how does League of Lendends work?
