Well I think the title speaks for itself...
I live in the UK and pre-ordered the game but haven't yet received it in the post. I've seen a couple of other posts on this issue and have sent an email to sales@stardock.com asking them to confirm the dispatch date but have had nothing beyond their automated response assigning me a ticket (3 days ago).
The fact that I also have an unrelated (Gal Civ 2) ticket that's been open for 2 and a half weeks without resolution means that I don't really have much faith in them responding to me soon, so I thought I'd post this question in the hope that someone out there can put my mind at rest.
On a related note - if anyone HAS received their copy in the UK, what courier company delivered it, or did it come in the "normal" Royal Mail post?
Thanks in advance for any responses,
Inscrutable
Sauron:
Stardock didn't tell me when mine was shipped, only that it was apparently lost in the mail. I'd contact them now rather than waiting if I were you.
I got a response from sales on Friday last week saying that they were "double checking on [my] order with [their] shipping company". I've since heard nothing from them and haven't received my copy either.
Every time the postman comes to the door I get a little excited, only to be let down.
One day... one day...
I have also opened a ticket, the only response I got was 'it should ship this week', hardly a definitive answer.
now they have replied, it was posted on the 15th... ironically after I had opened a ticket..
I emailed yesterday about not recieving my order and they said it was posted on Sept 1st despite having Pre-ordered months ago and upgrading to LE in early August. They emailed me back within a couple hours though which was great.
Got back from work a while ago and there is a royal mail "sorry we missed you" slip, except its not a "sorry we missed you" slip its a custom charge slip saying i have to pay £15.84 before i can get my package . I missed another package so i'm just going to go early sat and pick it up, i hope its in perfect condition or i am going to flip out.
At least i finally have it, kinda. Good luck getting your orders guys.
customs charge?
I'm still waiting for mine; When I asked sales about it last week, they got back to me and said that it had probably got lost in the post so would send another out.
I got a while you was out card saying i had to go pay a customs charge on mine too.
Just got a confirmation that mine was dispatched today, despite being a preorder. Grrrr.
About this custom's charge, are you serious?? Has eveyone who has received their copy been subjected to this charge, or is it just a select few.
I'm getting seriously fed up with this whole process as being dispatched today, with the 1-3 week timeframe for international delivery, means that I could be finally getting my copy up to 7 weeks after the game was released (and at the earliest about 5 weeks). And now there's the chance they I could have to pay additional costs for the pleasure.
So just to reiterate, if possible, could those people who have received theirs please confirm whether or not an additional customs charge was levied? Thanks,
I got mine, no customs charge either.
Oakey dokey ... I'll take your advice - Cheers
lol .. That sounds like me! I see the post lady coming up the street and I keep thinking today it'll come. A few times she's had a parcel but it's not been for me . I'm gonna e-mail Stardock to see if they can shed some light on the subject.
Sauron.
this has got to be the sloppiest release of a game I have ever experienced. If any other people out there have ordered and not yet recieved, I would query your order asap as it seems most of the time they take your money and not even bother to post unless you chase it up.
to be fair i suspect many of them are held up in customs while our glorious leaders decide to stick us with an import charge so they can fund some more duck ponds and 2nd houses
haven't got my basic eddition that I ordered to supplement the digital version .
The face says it all. Mine's come this morning and for once I haven't had a customs charge either! Oh and it didn't come via my regular post lady but by a man in a royal mail van. No damage to the box or contents!
For the record I only discovered this game three or so months ago and so only pre-ordered in mid August. Hope everyone else waiting in the UK and beyond gets their box soon .
Sauron
Heres hoping.
I love how Stardock treats their customers.
They originally overcharge international customers by including a overpriced shipping charge.
Then if a player realized the game wasn't worth that much money, they couldn't get a refund.
They released the game, and it is total joke which its own CEO openly admits to it being. Still no refund option.
They then treat their pre-order customers like dirt, by not even sending the product a week after it has been released. Still no refund, as it has now been sent and you have to also pay a large shipping fee.
Waiting for over 3 weeks for a product with a heavily overpriced shipping charge. I ordered products from US and else where like Singapore, within the 3 weeks and they arrived long before the game did.
The game finally arrives and now I am being forced to pay an extra £16 ($25) !
Seriously, I feel completely cheated by Stardock as they are effectively scam artists, as they grab you by the cojones for expressing an interest in their product, then they attempt to milk you dry, producing a horrible product with a horrible service.
It is an utter disgrace and the people involved such be ashamed of themselves.
The customs charge isn't stardocks fault, its Duty on imports made by the Uk customs and exercise border service for importing goods into the EU without paying vat on them. It sucks but its because the package came from outside the eu and didnt have vat paid on it.
Sometimes parcels go through without being flagged sometimes they don't though technically all of them should have been charged
If you order from amazon and they ship from jersey (indigo starfish) then you will see the excise sticker on the package stating the value is below the value for duty from jersey.
So its our own money grabbing government thats adding the extra charge here not stardock (though alot of your other points have value)
Its also completely possible that the major delay in receiving it was due to it being put in a pile to be processed at the customs depot before being released (i've had parcels wait 2 months for customs to process them before)
False, reputable online retailers send packages "Customs paid", and covered in the international delivery cost, order from Amazon for example. Since Stardock completely overpriced the international orders, customs should have been included, especially as their delivery of the product was definitely not the first class delivery which I assumed for the price, which were those rates. They also gave no warnings about custom duties which is usually another practise when they don't pay for customs.
In short, Stardock are entirely responsible. I was being overcharged for the price it was, another £16 ($25) on top is just extortion. They burn my hand when I handed money over, and it would have been significantly cheaper just to have rolled up my money and smoked it. £16 cheaper as well and probably would have had more enjoyment.
Shipping it back over would just be a sick joke, since I would have paid the twice the amount the product cost, simply on shipping and customs and it means I ended up paying full price for the game and have nothing to show for it.
They got you by the balls.
any more brits got their LE? I'm still waiting, even went out and bought some model paints for the flipping dragon (something else to do while they sort this game out).
Still waiting myself. Seventeen days since they posted it ...
I'm from Switzerland and I also still didn't get my LE. Support wrote that they sent another box as the other might have been lost, but still nothing here. Maybe I get two boxes for Christmas then...
"Pre-ordered" the game - Nearly a month after release nothing and people saying they have two copies!?
Absolutely disgraceful.
I've enquired about shipment and they've said shipped lost another one.
If it doesn't come on the 24th of this month I'm going to be seriously unhappy...
USPS First Class shipping to the UK is approximately $20 for a three pound box.
If your country charges customs fees, they are the buyer's responsibility whether they're included in the price or not. If they were, it'd just cost more up front, but the same either way.
We're investigating the issues with the fulfillment center and are no more pleased than anyone else about it.
Well the good news is that mine arrived today, which is a little odd as Stardock as the shipping date on the dispatch note says 7 September but the email I got from SD last week said it had been dispatched on 16 September. I'm wondering if there's another copy in the post...
Also good news in that there was no requirement for customs tax and the contents were in good condition.
I say contents... the actual box was a complete write-off. It looks as if the shipping company dodged the need for customs tax thing by not actually landing the plane and merely dropping the package while at 30,000ft somewhere over the UK. As I said though, the map, book and (most importantly) dragon were intact, and that's what matters.
I'm not blaming SD for the condition of the package (that's the shipping company's fault), I'm just saying it's a shame as it would otherwise have been a nice display box for my shelf.
