Hi Guys,
As the title says, I patched to 1.07, and now my game is back to CTD after attempting to start E:WOM.
I did have this problem in beta 3 and beta 4. And did post about it. In the end, I decided to ride it out and see if it was fixed at launch. It was. I had no problem launching any of the patches since release - until now.
I did the obvious, a reboot. But nothing has changed on my PC since I last was able to run E:WOM to now, except Patch 1.07.
My resolve to see this game through is starting to break
Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\ElementalBe sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session. If there was a dump zip created in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic on Windows XP), please post it via drop.io.
Do you have a debug.err file or dump file you can post?
Ok, here is what you were looking for:

And there was no 'zip' file, but these have the extension .dmp so adding them just in case:

Thanks guys, and sorry for any bitching I will be the Zen Gamer again, and relax. (But yea, its still broken for me, so please do look at this!)
I am in a similar situation. I am getting a CTD when I save a new sovereign. It's kinda weird; I am min/maxing to get a strong spellcaster with a lot of movement and it's crashing every time. However, it did not crash one of the times. I'll keep tinkering and see if I can find a pattern. Until then, here's my debug.err. There was no dump.bin.
debug.err:

The attribute issue with the custom sovereign's is fixed internally and being tested.
I hope that everybody is noticing that Stardock representatives kryo and Yarlen are actively replying during the evening. That's impressive.
No doubt!
I don't expect to hear anything back til maybe tomorrow - so don't work to late Stardockers, it's almost midnight here in Michigan!
Your character is smart or meditates, right?
Temparr,
Your video drivers are a few months old ( Apr 6, 2010 ). Please update to the newest driver.
Some people have had issues starting up the game when the ATI Catalyst Control Center (ATI tray tools) was running. Please try closing that if updating the drivers does not help the problem.
And let's add Stardock's CodeCritter to the Honor roster. He, also, is active in the evening.
I have a ATI videocard, and I've updated its drivers to the very recent 10.8 version. Updating them is very good advice, indeed.
(By the way, my series 5000 ATI card has never experienced any graphical problem with Elemental.)
You can get the most recent ATI drivers here :

Damn you are smart!
Shut down ATI tray tools and blamO. Working!
Thank you, and thank all you, and yay!
Thanks bud
Thanks, Temparr, for the +1 karma.
My account stated that I had received karma in the past, but I was overtly stuck at 0 -- I wonder why.
Your kindness merits that I reciprocate : to you.
