I'm asking for a refund on Elemental, and am confident I will get it (considering SD's reputation on such matters).
I would like SD to keep in touch with me by email whenever Elemental goes through a major update. When I feel the game might have fun gameplay, I would like to purchase it again.
Does anyone else who's gotten/getting a refund agree?
OR you could come here and look for yourself. doesn't take long, you know, just jump in and have a peak. see whats going on...you know. i'm just saying...
I want Brad to come over and wash my car!
Just kidding. There's a mailing list for significant product updates/sales, etc.
Hey, even for people who purchased the game and decided to stick with it, at some point real life (and/or other games) are going to get in the way. Wouldn't be a bad thing to get an email when a major milestone has been reached. If they really want to show commitment to the long term support of the game, one thing that could be done is add another mailing list option specifically for Elemental. Send out monthly (?) updates for the next few months summarizing the progress of the game and feature some of the top mods developed by the community.
No spam in my mailbox, PLEASE.
No offense, but you are not sticking with them, why should they care about you. I would personally rather them focus on teh individuals that are sticking with them. You might say thats abit of a fanboy attitude, but so be it. Stardock does and has always gotten it right with the customers that stick with them. I will personally let the game set on my shelf before i send it for a refund. I personally think it is a fun game even in its current state.
The fact that you posted this here IMHO is just to show you hate the game and bring bad press IMHO. You dont really care if Stardock keeps you updated on Elemental. Return it and move on.
It takes like 2 minutes to navigate to the official website and look for patches [= and read the patch notes] on a weekly basis.
Sythion,
I usually lurk. But you, sir, are a troll.
Because it does not take any effort to do and can bring some customers back? "He got a refund, he is bad!!111" is childish and counter-productive for business.
Well, well...since the game has been released, we have a troll baby boom on the forum.
Because they would make money if people who wont pay for the game right now goes and buys it later? I know its a silly reason to care, but its just a long shot.
I've requested a refund too, but would also consider buying the game again once it has been turned into a complete product.
Opps..wrong post replied to..........
Don't cloud the issue with pertinent facts.
Um, what he said. I'd rather they spent time on fixes/updates than spending time trying for you to come back.
In the past they've sent out mass mailers at a "major" update or expansion. Beyond that, it's your responsibility to keep up with patch notes. They're not going to be mass-mailing changelogs with every update.
Some form of subsription to the Elemental DevNotes?
Make it a subscription you have to pay 5 dollars a month for. This is my idea, thanks!
And sending mails when BIG changes go on isn't bad idea, even if it takes just 2 minutes to check the forum. Some people use RAM memory.
There's an RSS feed of the Dev Journals, where patch notes and news on major updates are always posted.
That's your best bet.
correct me if I'm wrong, (and I'm sure the someone will, cuz you know why be civil and tell a person their wrong when you can turn them into a quivering pool with your oh so witty comebacks but, I digress....). But, I already recieve a newsletter from Stardock Promoting their products about every month or so.... I've been getting these for years.... Maybe you could take the time to signup for it???
Beakie
Like other have already said: Check here on forum. Fortunately the bug forum is not hidden like it is with for instance Paradox Interactive own inhouse games, which are also known to be shipped in a uncomplete state.
Personally if I were going to shut out all thoughts of Elemental for the time being, I'd wait until they released Book III, and see what sort of reviews it gets. The critical acclaim (or lack thereof) should speak volumes about whether or not Stardock lived up to their commitment to making Elemental the gem that some of us feel it should have been at release.
The horse is dead already. Stop beating on it.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I'll be out once I get my refund. There's a lot of talk about how easy that is supposed to be, but not much action once its been requested.
Unfortunatly you will only get a 75% refund unless you are willing to go through a process of documenting specific tech problems, like game chrashes, along with details of your computer specs and so on. Refunds based the unfinished game content and lack of playtesting come with a 25% fine for the unhappy customer.
