Nothing appears to be wrong; I play the game until this point and then nothing happens when I hit the next turn button. This basically ends the play experience.
Have you loaded a savegame and tried again?
Yes. On the same saved game, the behavior persists. When I go back a few turns, it plays for a few turns and then the error recurs.
I had this same problem. Some unit is hung up and waiting for orders. Just press the next idle unit button(Little button at the bottom of the screen, looks like a helmet) and press end activation for each unit that it shows on. This usually happens with me on boats. They always want to get hung up.
Awesome. That is indeed what it turned out to be; I had a transport on autoexplore, stuck in enemy territory, and once I disbanded it, my game continued.
BTW: Transports? Broken. Harbor? Pretty much useless. How so? Transports, on autoexplore, go much slower (in terms of how fast the game is running) than anything else. I'm not sure what the autoexplore algorithm does with transports - and it's generally pretty sucky in otherwise awesome games such as GC2 - but there appears to be no logic whatsoever in where it goes. This is in addition to how much it slows down the game. And harbors can only build transports? No food bonus, no ability to create warships, etc? Not really worth building.
