I was all set to order this through impulse, since I not sure where to get it on the 24th, but after looking at the requirments im not sure if it will work on a machine running the 64bit version of windows xp. I think there is a way to have this version run in 32 bit mode. though off hand not sure how to do it:) Before I lay out 75 bucks does anybody know for sure that it runs on this version of windows?
Thanks very much, Mike
It might, or it might not. We're not officially supporting XP64, so we can't really make any guarantees.
I think what kryo means to say is, you'd better wait for the demo before you buy.
K thanks:)
I'd be hesitant to even say that, because even if the demo works, if something later changes and breaks the game in XP64, it's not going to be a priority to fix that unless it's also an issue on other versions which we do support.
XP64 is really poorly supported in general so the best option is definitely to upgrade to 7x64 if you can.
Yeah, I should've made it clearer that since it's not officially supported, it's "buy at own risk" even if the demo works. If they don't support it that means they don't test anything for XP 64, leaving the potential that it'll break later at some point.
I will look into that, thanks for the advice, greatly appreciated:)
Mike
Would the same apply to Vista x64?
No, Vista x64 is supported.

God, this thread scared the pants out of me. Just bought a copy for me and my wife and missed that the thread was concerning XP 64-bit and not win-7 64bit which I got
Yeah, Win7 64 bit is the future. You're in good shape there.
Ya but the problem with the future is that it's not always here But I guess I shouldn't have been supprised that Stardock would support my OS. I guess that xp-64 bit was something of an anomaly. M$ was a bit too early.
I don't even think Stardock has any 32-bit development machines left, just ones for compatibility testing
They weren't too early, they just failed to push or support it (and since they didn't push it, most other companies didn't support it either). Mainstream 64bit OSes have been long overdue.
