i have put it in the sins directory-didnt work
i have copied the fmod binw and d_d3x6_36 or whatever its called into the particle forge-nope
i have net 3.5
i have windows 7
so if anyone can help it would be MUCH aprecciated
What exactly is the problem? What are your system specs?
as soon as i start it up it says "particle forge exe has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution to the problem.
what system specs do you need?
Does it say anything about tempdata local mini dump (random numbers)?
no the particle forge window doesnt even open
I've put several thread out there asking about the same issue. They really should make a detailed tutorial on how to use it.
exactly!
& @fredled: you should really put stuff like this in the modding section of the forum, i think. that way u can get help easier. you did extract the file though, right?
i have to extract them to my desktop because when i try to extract them into the sins directory it says it cant extract managediron, particle exe,or forgelibrary there
There is a lot of people having problems with this. Not to mention that it should be put in the root directory where base files should NOT BE modified.
I read in an old post somewhere that you can run particle forge from a mod folder as long as the particle forge has access to the particles and textures.
I will bundle particle forge with all the necessary files that are needed and the user just needs to place it like any other mod. Edit the desired particles, enable the Particle Forge mod and test away.
okay thanks man
okay i tried to enable it as a mod but it still has the same problem
and heres another view:
FYI--having same prob. Windows 7 with net framework 4.0 installed.
Particle Forge 3 right?
Sooooooo.
Paste these folders(from the main sins directory) into the Particle Forge 3 folder:
Particle
Texture
Mesh
PipelineEffect
d3dx9_36.dll
and, to be safe, paste all the other .dll files from the main sins directory.
Make sure that there are these files in the particle forge folder:
ParticleForge.png
ParticleForge.pdb
particleforge_trans,png
Ironclad.png
Cool, if anything else is wrong, I will watch the thread...
Thanks--just saw this reply. Yep PF3 for me. I'll go do your suggestion now. I had run PF3 in Xp with no issues. Will post back if your fix opens a door to the underworld and demons surge through my computer into this dimension as a result--or if it works. I'll just add it to this reply.
Ah--a file was missing from my first paste. I found it and when added...
That it appears to work (I'll have to uninstall and entrenchment mod to see further). When I copied and pasted all the directory files from the game into PF3 it works fine but if you drop PF3 into the root directory of Sins it doesn't.
I have Win 7, NET 4.0.I had the same issue win starting PF3...
I placed PF3 directory into ..\Users\MyAccount\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games
Then i copied these directories from original SOASE directory:
Mesh, Particle, PipelineEffects, TextureAnimations, Textures into PF3 directory (and did the same with Entrenchment directory).
Then i copied these files from SOASE directory:
d3dx9_36.dllxinput1_3.dll
With this PF3 runs correctly.
