This bug appears to be new, as I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed it before:
The stuff I marked is Finnish, the rest is German (as it should be). Reinstalling doesn't help. Deleting the "Lang" folder in the Fences directory fixes the Fences configuration screen (it is automatically set to English), but not the right click-menu.
Also, it'd be cool if we could manually choose the language Fences uses. Apparently, at the moment it uses the OS language.
You probably should email support@stardock.com with this problem/bug. I don't think I've seen anyone else identfy this. I use Fences but with an English/American version of Win 7. It is interesting that there is no manual choice for language but then then they get to keep the overall size of the Fences program small by doing that.
Have you seen this mixing of languages in other programs that you run?
No, it has only happened with Fences.
Edit: I looked into the German language file. Apparently, somebody just got the translations mixed up.
Posted the lines that are wrong here:

Ack! Indeed. Luckily this has already been fixed internally, but this release apparently lingers with the mistake. The next revision will take care of the problem. Thank you for the heads up!!

I've downloaded the Free Version of Fences and I've some bugs too.
The problem with the Language is, that the language-files are not correctly translated!
Look at the german "default.lang-file":
The first Line is:
LANGUAGE English
It have to be German or Deutsch.
at line 42 the next bug:
Navigation 3 6 5/21/2010 Appearance Ulkoasu
Correctly it is "Aussehen" and not "Ulkoasu"
at line 66 the next bug:
Layouts 4 22 10/6/2009 "To remove a fence, on your desktop, right click blank space within a fence and choose ""Remove Fence""." "Poista aitaus työpöydältä napsauttamalla hiiren kakkospainikkeella tyhjää tilaa aitauksen sisäpuolella ja valitsemalla ""Poista Fence""."
and so on...
I think you people at Stardock have to recruit some new Translators for your Apps.
Here are all the other failed lines in the german Language-File:
Line:
82, 83, 93, 157, 165, 249, 250, 300, 301, 302, 434
I don't know exactly if there are onter "languag-bugs" too (I don't have read all lines precisely) but I think you have to fix this because
if I want to buy an application, I want to pay for properly programmed software and not for software programmed like in the beta-state.
Line 41:
Navigation 3 5 10/6/2009 About Info
As I know, in german applications it's not "Info" but rather "Über" or "Info über".
Line 39:
Navigation 3 3 10/6/2009 Tools Tools
In Germany "Tools" is "Werkzeuge" but I think the correct word for this category or class is "Einstellungen" or "Extras".
I've edited the Laguage-File correctly and inserted it into the setup but I think I can not post the setup here because I have no right to publish
my edited installer cause of the copyright.
So i think you have to update the installer.
If the bugs are fixed, I will buy this nice App.
Have a nice Day and sorry for my bad english.
Just wanted to say that the language file still hasnt been updated (at least for the free version). I really like the application btw.
This should have been fixed. Please try the Pro version or uninstall and reinstall the Free version.

Hello Stardock,
I have the same issue with version 1.01.143.
I have Win XP SP3 (all latest updates) and .NET 3.5/4.0 (if that matters).
If I can help resolve the issue, please reply.
Regards,
Sebastian
The free version of Fences has not yet been updated to include the language fixes. If you upgrade to Fences Pro, the issue is resolved. Generally speaking, the free version lags behind the pro version in updates.
So, to do some grave digging: it's been over a year and a half now since the initial post and my free fences still displays finnish menus. Can I expect an update anytime soon or was support for fences abandoned?
Sinon: You might get more help by creating your own Post and putting it here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/forum/165 which is a support section, and in the OP, cite this thread (https://forums.wincustomize.com/389274).
Alternatively, submit it by email to support@stardock.com .
Interestingly, the Free version is super-stable and has not needed any critical bug fixes that this minor change would be rolled into.
Well, why don't you then just roll out a tiny update to fix this nuisance? Otherwise, since this version really is very stable, there won't be a fix any time soon, right?
It's not quite as easy as you'd think to put out an updated build. Not saying no, just that's it's more than the push of a button. I'll mention it to the dev team.
