One of the things that made enchanting your cities in master of magic quite rewarding, was that every spell had a graphical representation on the city view. This could also be added to Elemental.
E.g., a city with a farm that has been enchanted by "Enchant Farm" could show some kind of sparkle on the farm tiles with in the city.
In the same manner studies and schools could sparkle (or somethin more elaborate) when the city was enchanted with "Brilliance".
The list goes on with enchant production (Workshops) and finally enchant defense. Here a wall of fire spell could visibly drawn instead of the wooden palisade (or stonewall later on).
Adding soem sparkles should not be to difficult and would make casting citie spells much more rewarding. Its often small details like that, which make a good game great.
I remember having played several games of MoM with Death and Fire magic only for the one reason: to enchant my cities with wall of darkness AND wall of fire, which was really great looking at the time. The same with the holy light enchantment that put those rays of light into the city. Great times.
I agree! Enchantments need visual representation.
Wow, it's been so long I'd forgotten that. Great idea!
yep this will give cities an interesting look, and will immediately show whats been cast on it.
Definitely.
Don't really have much to add.
Totally agree.
Best regards,Steven.
I want City Shields, or Territory Shields, Ill even take Outpost Shields I want shields ><
Did Stardock ever comment on this idea? I think persistent visual feedback for enchantments on cities and units would add a lot to the game. Both for flavor(it would look cool) and for practical purposes. (easier to see at a glance what is enchanted if there is some kind of visual feedback) Even just a bit of glow around enchanted units would be neat, maybe just a different color of glow depending on the type of enchantment, like in MOM. Same for cities.
