Hello,
My Objectdocks are gone after rebooting. They don't disappear after every reboot, just occasional reboots. This problem started after updating Window Blinds a couple of weeks ago. I haven't installed any other software or made changes to my computer in at least 3 weeks. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ObjectDock Plus. I am using Windows 7, 64-bit.
Any idea on how to troubleshoot the problem, or even better, how to prevent dock loss?
For a start, I'd open Impulse, go to the My Software tab then right click on ObjectDock and verify installation. Do the same with WindowBlinds. If not installed correctly, an update will be available.
I'm also running 7/64 bit with OD andf have never seen this issue.
Also what security apps do you have running?
Could it be something you have loading at start-up?
Have you updated your Windowblinds (there was one just the other day)?
*as usual.he beat me to it.
ObjectDock Plus & WindowBlinds Verified sucessfully. Yes I had already applied the most recent WindowBlinds update.
I formatted all drives about 3 months ago and havent had this problem before. I am using Fix-It Utilities 10 Pro and have been using it for about 5 months or so without any problems. Fix-It's Startup Comander lists ObjectDock Plus as part of startup and doesnt indicate any startup problems or warnings.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for your support!
Close ObjectDock, and go to Start>Start Search and paste the following:
%userprofile%\AppData\local\stardock\
In the window that opens, try renaming the ObjectDock Plus folder to something else (like ObjectDock Backup) and see if the issue persists.
This has happened to me several times in the past with Objectdock Free in XP, Vista and Windows 7, and when I do load Objectdock after that I get a blank dock, no icons at all. Luckily I save my dock layout and restore it, and all is fine for a while. It does seem to occur right after a Windowsblinds update though.
