Reading another thread and a poster mentioned Treasure Maps in passing. Remember the Treasure Maps in Sid Meier's Pirates! ? That was a cool little feature that was relatively simple but fun! I wouldn't even mind if Frogboy "copied" the concept. I hope they can have treasure maps in E:WOM... Would that take the "6 hours of Engineering" Brad discussed? You could also extend the hidden treasure concept to finding different pieces of the "map" was actually a "recipe" for a spell, a new technology development, a long lost document that a uber-powered hero would love to have back and would reward you accordingly, blah, blah, blah. Don't you think treasure maps would be "neato?"
That would make an interesting quest...
Actually, I think all the triggers to make quests based on this idea are in...I'm going to go make some right now
Thanks for the great suggestion!
Well how about freein' up a comped Elemental game or some Karma?!
I bought a copy of EWoM for you gave you Karma, because this was a fine idea indeed!
It was my idea if I'm not mistaken. I am just happy it got in!
What is a treasure map? I'm not familiar with Pirates.
Thanks, now we can all be real-life pirates!
Your idea, my idea, Sid's idea.... whatever . I think the key is to get something in the Title Header, like "Big Hooters" or something, to attract attention and not let the idea get lost in the morass of dozens of threads.
EGADS! man, you've never heard of Pirates!??. Check it out. I'm sure nearly everyone on this site, including Brad and Co. is a fan of Sid's.

^^ I am I currently have a game of Pirates running now, matter of fact.
Do you think this "Treasure Map" idea could also look like the "Old Map" idea I posted?
I know the two are very similar, just.. maybe not the same theme.
You know how absolutafantastic it is to see this?
"Hey, could we do X? ... Sure, let me go put it in." The only difficulty would be to get the game to put in all the pieces and/or coding how you get them. In pirates, you could get them after just sheer persistence. If you place them as objects in the game world, an AI could pick up one piece and it would be a long long time before you got to see it.
So how is the treasure thing coming BoogieBac?
Can it be done via "decipherable clues" found at various locations that would direct you to another location etc etc as well...
