How did this happen? Sony sucked. Starting awhile back, culminating with the rootkit issue, and having their machines ass backwards as **** (Yes, I did quote the union, but it's true, I spent 8 hours one day trying to figure out how to use a sony 5 disk cd changer), Sony has become suck. And I liked the original Xbox, I love my 360 (I don't love the awful hardware but whatever), and the Ps3 came in with a $599 price tag, and a horrible 2006 e3 presentation (RIDDGE RACCER! Although one quote made an excellent video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3e6Wy19jbo&feature=related )
Yeah, the PS3 has a good bluray player, but for awhile that's all it had. That did really start to change in early 2008, but then Sony is still Sony. Taking away linux support (I have a PS3 slim, but I'm aware they can take away ps3 slim features as well ), BC, and just plain being Sony.
So how the hell am I loving my PS3 slim? Well it isn't Sony. After recently getting Littlebigplanet, as well as the walmart deal (buy 2 get 1 free on recent greatest hits games), when I get Infamous, Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 for $60, I haven't had as much fun with Xbox exclusives. I also recently got Uncharted 2 (received it today).
Also my bluray collection has reached 14, and I have a bluray player as well my ps3 in my bedroom. That also helps...
Of course, my love for the PS3 will depend on how long it is before Sony pulls a Sony...
I too base my life around brands and post on the internet when my opinions of them change.
I REALLY hate to say it, but Septimius Severus has become my favorite Roman Emperor
I think you should use ass backwards in your posts more. That would brighten everyones day.
I REALLY hate to say it, but rain has become my favorite negative weather state
I REALLY hate to say it, but Monte Cristos have become my favourite sandwich.
How did this happen? Cuisinart sucked. Starting awhile back, culminating with the blender issue, and having their machines ass backwards as **** (Yes, I did quote the union, but it's true, I spent 8 hours one day trying to figure out how to use a Cuisinart 5 gallon ice cream maker), Cuisinart has become suck. And I liked the original salad spinner, I love my KitchenAid blender (I don't love the awful selection of frappe modes but whatever), and the Cuisinart one came in with a $199 price tag, and a horrible 2006 Senior Citizens Club presentation (BRIDDGE PLAYERS!) Although one quote made an excellent video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T_MOrnS_UU )
Yeah, the Cuisinarts have good mixing performance, but for awhile that's all they had. That did really start to change in early 2008, but then Cuisinart is still Cuisinart. Taking away third-party accessory support (I have a Powerselect hand mixer, but I'm aware they can take away hand mixer features as well ), BC, and just plain being Cuisinart.
So how the hell am I loving my new kitchen? Well it isn't Cuisinart. After recently getting a Meat Grinder attachment, as well as the walmart deal (buy 2 get 1 attachments on recent greatest hits models like the Pasta Maker), when I get Food Processor, Citrus Juicer, and Nuclear Explosive Construction Mold for $60, I haven't had as much fun with KitchenAid exclusives. I also recently got a beater blade (received it today).
Also my brownie mix collection has reached 14, and I have a mixing bowl as well my hand mixer in my bedroom. That also helps...
Of course, my love for their appliances will depend on how long it is before Cuisinart pulls a Cuisinart...
lol @ carbon
Anyway, I don't want to turn this into another one of those console-war threads you see all over the internet but......
here's my take on the competition to the PS3
Wii - the single best family gaming experience ever. Mario Galaxy, new Super Mario Bros, and Boom Blox are all reasons to buy this console not to mention the plethora of family-oriented titles available for this gem of a console. Watching grandpa swing the wii-mote in a virtual golf-swing...........priceless.........for everything else (including the console and accessories) there's mastercard! Mario Galaxy 2 (May 23rd) will be reason for a party at monk's house!
Xbox 360 - on a purely hardware-level this console may be eclipsed by Sony's PS3 but I swear I've never seen a PS3 version of a recent game run as well/better than the Xbox version runs on the 360. Must be some of that MS magic (hehe) but given the PS3 version vs the 360 version I'll always choose the later. Even the MP (allthough you have to pay for Xbox live) is worlds better for the Xbox.
So......in short.....I'm confused and not sure how you arrived at your conclusion. Is it maybe just the game-titles you're having a good time with? In which case it wouldn't be the PS3 you're in love with.......rather the game-titles?
When RDR (Red Dead Redemption www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption) hits the store shelves on May 18th there is absolutely no question in my mind which system I'll be getting that wonderful game for. I will be shocked if RDR doesn't turn out to be more optimized for the (yes lower-spec) 360 hardware, lags less on Xbox live (rather than PSN) etc. etc.
What is a PS3?
Now of course I know what a XBox is; but I don't watch that kind of nasty stuff, nosirreee.
Oh, My Lord! YOU'VE GONE TO THE DARK SIDE *screams*
Buy God of War 3. You will not regret it.
Hey, the Pc is still my favorite game machine. Or do you mean from the RROD machine to the PS3?
In that case, I'm going from spaceballs to the dark side...
At least I didn't choose my Wii. That would be choosing Jar Jar Binks instead of the dark side.
We own a PS3 and Wii. Wii was fun for a bit (New Super Mario Brothers) but got old quickly. The PS3 however is indispensable - we have it in our bedroom and stream movies to it or watch blurays almost daily. Periodically the wife and I will play Little Big Planet. I haven't seriously played a game on it in over a year though, the last one I played that really blew me away was MGS4. I've owned an Xbox360, didn't see a reason to keep it as most "exclusives" were also on PC.
The only excuse i get from a player who owns a PS3 is that fact that they say ' your xbox 360 controller is too big', well, it aint bigger then your moms love handles.
hehehehehhehehehehe
About 4 weeks ago I bought a Wii. It is my first console since the N64/PS1 days. I've always been a PC gamer, but lately I've just wanted something else and something that I can play with other people locally. I have been LOVING it. I've used the Xbox 360 before with my friends, but I couldn't justify myself getting a 360 because there is NOTHING that comes out for the 360 that also doesn't come out for the PC and frankly the PC version always blows the 360 version out of the water. I still have my PC and use it every once in awhile.
One of the biggest drawbacks for me with the Wii is that I am sick of Nintendo's "kiddie" approach to games and want to throw up every time I see Mario. But since owning the Wii now, I can say that I don't really care what the "maturity" level of the games are...they're just plain fun. I have my PC and use it any time I want a game with more mature themes, but I play my Wii much more now simply because it is so much fun!
Plus, now that Monster Hunter Tri is out for the Wii, that game is just plain addicting!
