Some day there will be huge update... that is focused on planets (galaxy generation will be revised also):
every planet will have 3 specific "bonuses", that will characterize it: atmosphere (dense, thin..), seismic activity, climate.
Also gatherable equipment will appear near some planets, giving significant bonuses to Cap Ships.
And Defence Doctrine will adjust only defence structures and starbases, not fleet.
BTW, I also like unexplored graphic in SGI mod
I really like your idea of using the engine upgrade research as a refit ability on the frigate and capital factories. It's a very unique and interesting approach to research. Any plans on making more of the upgrades factory refit abilities?
I also like the upgrades to phase travel speed. It doesn't take forever to go somewhere anymore. lol
Another interesting concept this mod has is the ability to travel to every other gravity well on the map. I really wish there was a way to implement this on all the other maps without completely redesigning them. My ideal solution would be to grant the player the ability to phase travel from any gravity well to any other gravity well that they have already scouted through conventional phase lanes. I believe there is already a scoutship mod that does this with the phasegate ability but I wish it could be an automatic ability for every ship that visits a gravity well for the first time.
I was playing this the other night and one thing I noticed was that even without the penalties from the doctrines, it still took forever to research everything. I would suggest adding in more research speed upgrades for all the player races.
I new update there will be 4 stages of ship speed upgrade (up to 50%)
Well, as for researches... You shouldn't research everything, you simply have a choose... doctrines are also help to define your strategy line, with totally different tactics
Unfortunately now we need fully redesign maps for "connected" effect, as there are some multi-star stellar systems (while "phase scouts mod" enables phase movement only within current star (no realistic multistar systems)), and culture creeps on phase lines only.
I'm playing TEC, using flagship "Akkan Battlecruiser" Colonize 2 level (flagship is 3 level) I tried first, and it's fine, but I was waiting for second time yet red bar got stuck of colonize and seem I can't use, I wait, and wait, yet red bar not moving at all.
Why I have lags on the huge maps? Is it my Processor or my RAM? Or my GPU?

if it is lag in the late game, then it is sheer NUMBER of ships/planets that have to be looked after by the SINGLE thread of the game, the only things that might reduce the effect of lag to the player is to OVERCLOCK the ram speed and cpu GHZ.

the default autocast explore on the subversion ships is a bit problematic on the big multistar maps (e.g teona galaxy), in which it's already impossible for a human manage everything on the map
the ships end up spending all their time on interstellar jumps that take ages, and unless i'm mistaken they look for unexplored worlds when they'd be much more useful on enemy colonies
That's the explore autocast. The mod cannot control whether the ability searches for new planets or revisits old ones. Once all unexplored planets are explored, it will just randomly go to other planets - it's part of the game. I doubt it would be easy to create an ability which prioritizes revisiting old planets over discovering new ones.
where'd you get the Amarr EVE ships?

Just seems like a bug to me, but with certain researches saying that they'll decrease research time/cost, it appears that they actually make researches cost more and take longer. Noticed this getting the Military Doctrine and the Secrets of Ancients researches, and watching researches get more expensive.

i think the militias might be a bit tenacious at least on lora cluster, i spent all my time moving my fleet around because they kept attacking and starbasing all my worlds, they also don't appear to have any center of operations to be destroyed

Aplos, did you make the planet textures or did you get them from somewhere else?
The "connected systems" in this mod make Phase Tunneling almost useless.
(We really do want this for Rebellion too, Aplos)
Really nice to play and looks beautiful.
I've only just found this mod, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the professional and polished look to everthing. Some of the philosphies for the map designs are really well thought out.
Also, the tech tree is a wonder, and definatley moves the game away form (and I love this) just a combat simulator. Very well done here.
Now a couple of question.
My tech Kol capital inexplicitly get a 10% weapons range increase, seemingly out of nowhere. Am I missing somthing.
2. Also, I seem to be getting weird hull damage as I fly about (still with plenty of shields intact). Now this is at the very early stages of the game, before meeting anyone, so do these pirates/raiders (which BTW, have really become more then just a nuisance-and for the better of the game) have some shild piesing weapongs, or do certian planets types/suns cause hull damge?
Note: I always edit one of my artifact techs (the base level parts), so as to mod each mod to my liking (ie very long/epic games). In this case I added 300% to hull hit points (among many other things) so another cause for the above hull loss is for some reason this had caused a problem elsewhere. (which incidentaly has not happen with any other mod I've done this with, nor, at the beginning of playing you mod-all of the ships and structures have the exact 300% increase that I am looking for)
Edit. It seems this hull damage is related to phase jumping?
Edit 2. The hull damage is applied short after arriving at a planet. It does not happen all the time, and incidentally, the 10% weapons range bonus was applied at the same time as the hull damage. I've look through the planet buff files and could not see any indicators here, however, the timing seems to be in relation to the 2.5 second timing of the particular planet buffs (even though the buff should not effect hull or weapons range-the above happened when arriving a a gas planet)
Edit 3. The hull damage is from the big asteroid falling on my head , and so I assume this is from the asteroid ship? (What is its enterty file name BTW.
The planet buffs do seemed to be bugged. In addition to the 10% weapons range one, I also got a double portion of the gas planets 60% increase to speed, setting it to 120% speed 120%turn ect. Upon leaving the system, my ship now has a permanent 60% increase, as if the buff end properties are not functioning correctly, in addition to the mysteries 10% weapons bonus. A reload does not fix this.
Regardless, I look forward to exploring your mod, there is a certain realism about it which I find excellent.
