space ponies. what the HELL are they? i went searchin into the forum and found a bunch of people who said things similar too "i was tempted to tell you the space pony secret" and "only the most vile players can receive it" and they seemed to know the probability of getting space ponies, so they know what the requirements are for them.
idc if i dont know what space ponies are, but i wanna know what i did to get em so early in my playing experiance while some people who have played for ages and have colonized countless planets have not gotten them.
then how have people who have over time colinized entire universes not gotten it?
at kitkar: why hide it any longer? theres gotta be something.... "bad" ive done to get it...
if there were a way to give negative karma you'd both be getting it right now....
im going to be a good Jew here and make you a deal
Give me Karma and ill tell you what it is =P
Purely random. When I got a new computer and started playing Sins, I found space ponies on my first game. Other people have played for well over a year and never seen 'em. It's a random easter-egg, don't get worked up over it.
You do have to "explore" the planet to find them (planet exploration upgrades)
ok rez. i gave it to you now tell meh
I've gotten at least 5 (though only have pics for three) and yet others never get'em
I must be EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL!
I think I got my space ponies when I explored a planet...but I can't be too sure about it.
No secret. No being evil required. As said before its purely random chance. Colonize a planet, upgrade exploration in the planetary menu and hope you stumble across it. Its rarity has caused many to create stigmas about persons "being evil" because some have found it and others haven't. And people like to create their own lore about it. But its just a random easter egg. I found it on the 5th or 6th game I ever played, but havent seen it since. And as stated before, like artifacts, you have to explore planets to get it.
okay, now if you give me your bank account details....=P
jokes, its simply a random thing. its some remnant of a joke left over from the very early days of the game. you explore planets and then you find them, there isnt even a popup or anything telling you. when you mouse over a planet you will see a small icon of a pink pony that says Space Ponies! then you get the acheivement.
it doesnt actually do anything for you though...
i actually got so pissed off that after a year and a half of games i never found it that i went into the acheivements file and manually altered it so the i got the Space Ponies Achievement
p.s. thanks for the Karma =D
Spoil sports.
You don't always have to explore to find them. Just got them for the 2nd time a couple days ago, they showed up as soon as I colonized a desert planet.
I've heard that you have better odds of finding them at the Pirate Base! I don't know if it true tho. Take over the base, colonize it, and then explore them. GL.
Keep playing 5v5s in multiplayer, and one day youll randomly colonize a colony and find space ponies there
No need to explore.
To this day, I have yet to find Space Ponies.
I found them the other day for the first time, in a multiplayer game. They didn't seem to do anything.
i colonized an asteroid yesterday and it said space ponies! and i was like wtf.... lol
i got them and didnt even know just the other day i was seening what i had left on the acivements left and it was listed as done so i have no clue when i got it.
space ponies : refugees from candy mountain?
I happened to be watching the replay of Cykur fighting 9 unfair AIs, and it turns out he got space ponies that game for reasons unclear. I remember doing a double-take at the line of text popping in on the screen. Even on rewatching the replay, I can't see clearer the definate reason. It seems pretty random in trigger. It was on the replay that was the redo of the starting-defense portion of the scenario. Just misc fyi. I think perhaps it was for conquering an enemy world, but a lot was going on at the particular moment with battling ships as well, so hazy causation.
I know he had the cap ship killer achieve earlier, a lot of weird achieves were happening that game, had wondered if ponies depended on earlier / sibling ones, as in ponies only starts dice rolling, if N other achieve are in first.

@runesia "space ponies: refugees from candy mountain?"
a maaaagical leoplurodon!
They're Ponies in Space, duh!
They are the advent who lost control of their powers
Advent nut... Scary thing is: I know you
I have never seen them and even if I had I just had to reinstall Sins and Entrenchment so I lost everything.
But on another note I always found it funny the way they do that in the Achievements screen.
"Space Ponies!
Ummm...What?"
