Hey, i was wandering if anyone was still interested in procuring the ships from the game Nexus the Jupiter Incident.
Here are some picture of the ships i intend to clean them up and send them in game.
Angelwing
Carrier Noah
Destroyer Noah
Ill post the Gorgs up next .
Gorg BattleCruiser and Destroyer also some Vardrag ships
Also some may realise im missing a few ships from Noah , im aware execpt that they are giving me some trouble and needs major cleaning..
Akkan117
I have seen this game, and it looks interesting. I personally don't have any access to it though.
So you have the Angelwing on top, then the Noah support ship, then the Noah cruiser, then the Noah destroyer?
ya haha. So.... you want them hey SpardaSon21 I know u want them Muahahah. Dont worry ill have to fix them up a bit get the rest of those ships and then i will either make a mod or ill just a mesh Package with each ship. More to come!
How are you pulling the models from the game, or are you making them yourself? Ive wanted to pull the models for quite some time.
You do know sins doesnt support animations right? However you can work around that with particles. See the B5 mod for that.
I noticed that your nulls are pointing in offset angles. You do know sins only recognises nulls that point in a 2d plane. Ill try to explain it, because its hard to explain without showing you. Sins only supports firing arcs pointing forward, left, right, and back on a 2d plane. So your nulls should be facing 0 90 -90, and 180 degrees. The only "offset" nulls i saw were on the Kol battleships autocannons, and that seems to only effect the muzzle effects. Not the firing arc itself because it is still pointing in one of those main 4 angles. Sins firing arcs are broad, general, hardcoded, and cover 180 degrees in one of the four directions a null is pointing.
I did find out something interesting. If a null is facing normally it fires at targets "above" your ships no problem, but it rarely fires at targets below the ship. If you flip the null upside down like you do in Nexus modding. Then the null will behave just the same except it will fire at targets below normally, but rarely fire at targets above you.
Sins is based on 2d combat, but the ships move somewhat in 3d which is why the firing arcs are so broad. With the dynamic movement of entrenchment the flipped nulls make things more interesting. Just some FYI
I am interested in this, but i cant help much because of my own project. I can however give advise, and tell you what i know of sins modding.
Well, you would really only need particle effects for rotating vessels if the Sol corporate ships were added. Everything on the other side of the wormhole has artificial gravity, and the Vardrags even have gravitic drives on their ships.
So Akkan, how many weapons points do these babies have? Counting normal, large, and flak mounts the Noah destroyer has as many gunpoints as a Sins carrier capital.
Major Stress
Those line you see are only what use to be were the weapon and exhaust used to be. when i first imported the models that what it gave me. I have cleaned up the angelwing now it looks much better.
haha thx for the explanation but dont worry ive been moding sins for a long time. I Know my way around sins.
here is the Angelwing i cleaned it up. It looks better but, it has a few more bugs.
Here is a shot of the angelwing in game. No texture for now. Ill have some gorg ships posted next
LOL sorry, with all the nubs running around saying how do i do this and how do i do that i am used to damn near writing a 100 page tutorial for every post i make.
Anyways the important question wasn't answered.. How did you get the models out of nexus? Nexusthegame.com has been down for quite some time, and its modding forum gone with it. Mithis doesnt exist anymore so i am assuming nexus is now abandonware. Which means there shouldnt be any issues exporting its models. I wanted to do it for a long time for my own personal use, but never could find a program that could open or convert the mesh, and tex files. If you found a way to convert them it will give me an excuse to re-install the game.
Well then you should start re installing
Alright so in my search to find out how to extract those models... after long weeks of looking around on the web.... i found the only website that still has any support to Nexus: ModDB. There are some guys there who are working on a mod for nexus.
Now here is were it gets better . Ill give you a hint, go to the nexus main page http://www.moddb.com/games/nexus-the-jupiter-incident then go to the download section and scroll down, im sure you will be able to continue from there . Its like magic
You deserve some karma for that
Heres the Noah battleship
Enjoy !
So akkan, do you know how to texture?
i am a horrible texture artist thats all i can say
I think that this would be great to see in the game. Its a shame that Mithis didn't continue the Nexus universe with a sequal or even an expansion, and now they're gone.
Sadly I don't have much modding experience, but I can offer my complete moral support if you wanted to release this to the public.
ah thx velisx im only thinking of releasing the models of nexus the jupiter incidetn to the public. Howvever curently im tied up woth other mods and and i have some porblems geting some of the models out in to sins.
But once again thx for the support
Oh wow, those models look fantastic. Can't you extract the texture from the game as well?
probably haven't got to that yet
is this mod dead
It has been a year since the last post... What do you think? (Hands out Necromancy award)
Sad. That's what. lol
lol. good game though.
is the nexus mod complete?
is there a link to download it?
This never was a mod, just the models being extracted from the original Nexus.
