Demigod v1.2 has passed what we call our tech QA and is now in consumer QA (i.e. compatibility and such).

Commenting is enabled to allow people to complain about the balancing since you can blame me for it. I read through the comments and various threads and compiled a list of requested changes along with my own experiences from playing. So you can see a lot of things have been made less expensive. The new favor items are largely just “upgrades” (requiring a lot more favor points) to the existing ones. I tried to request items that could be realistically added. So in other words, don’t flame GPG. Flame Brad (me).
The modding is going to become a big deal I believe as I am hoping we will be able to have our own mods that players will be able to distribute here on the game site or that we’ll eventually bundle with the game if they’re popular enough.
Won't have to worry about Sedna it is a Assassin item only. Then again My New Dodge Sedna might be fun

With SotF there is NO alternative for UB and Rook players. they just have to stack hp.

Do you really believe that? As many people have already stated in this thread, demigods that previously relied on favor items other than BotF are receiving an indirect nerf. It's basically the same thing as buffing UB's starting HP from 1550 to 1750 while leaving QoT's starting HP untouched at 1450. QoT could use Tome of Champions, but it's not a better option for her than Cloak of Night.
It doesn't really matter, either way tis bad. I can't believe this... do you guys have any balance team at all?

+1 for scrapping the new favors. UB was already the scariest demigod to have to deal with in a straight fight. With SotF, it'll be run-on-sight. No questions asked.
I applaud the TB fix, maybe he'll be viable now. We'll see. In truth, though, he was broken for way too long. This is another one of those "should have been in at launch" things.
QoT changes are dissappointing. Entourage buffs should be moved entirely to Summon Shambler, with Entourage doing something completely different. I like the idea of it buffing QoT and nearby demigods. Maybe minions too. ALL minions. As it stands, shamblers still aren't viable as anything other than potions. And even then...meh. I always play QoT as pure Bramble/Ground Spikes/Spike Wave.

He never said it wasn't addressed, he said it wasn't fixed. Sorian's blog (I've read every entry) states that he has found something that MIGHT be responsible for the desync issues and THINKS that it has been fixed. He did not say "I have honed in on the desync error and fixed it, this problem will never occur again *fixed*"
It's impossible to speak in absolutes about something like that based on limited QA testing only, and if he did and there yet remain rarer cases that were not isolated in testing, people would just complain even more. Only time and a broad base can tell if the core issue was indeed dealt with.
The problem was investigated and appears to be solved based on the repro cases that were found, but to extend that into a claim that we can 100% guarantee that the problem is solved in every possible case is dishonest at best. But it was a priority and it was dealt with as best as could be done based on the information available. Claiming otherwise despite the regular updates Sorian gave in the thread here and on his blog is just insulting.
Hi, this is my first post, but because of these developments I think I have to make some kind of response...
The new uber favor items fundamentally give the greatest advantage to the two demigods with the highest win ratio, Lord Erebus and Unclean Beast. This is fail... :/
By introducing these items you have effectively made my rook build less viable when facing opponents playing Ere and UB using these new favor items.
I play a rook build using amulet of teleportation. It's a really fun way to play rook and, in terms of empirical evidence, it works well. I'm an average player and I have 66% win with rook. http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/demigods/player/51161/

To make a long story short, if you are introducing these items that essentially make the two best rook nerfing characters more powerful, I want this item.

In terms of the items you have already proposed, this is really NOT UNBALANCED. FFS, you have just given UB an extra +3 hp per second and hp stacked ere's army! Let's be reasonable here!
Let me hear your thoughts on this one. If you are introducing game changing favor items, you really have to think about the different demigods and demigod builds that will suffer as a result of them.

Edit: Surely you pay a little attention to what the community thinks, don't you? For QoT most people want uproot redesigned and the characters autoattack slightly increased.
The changelog specifically says that one major issue that can cause desyncs is fixed and that this was probably responsible for most desyncs that occurred since the last patch. Keep in mind that desyncs could be caused by a number of things. He can't tell which situation that could cause a desync is fixed, unless he has desync logs from every player of that game where the desync occurred.
Furthermore -Sorian- said that they were able to fix the endless connectivity screens.
I Also think the new favor items are a bad idea, i don't mind having stronger versions of existing favor items that cost more, as long as you make stronger version for ALL favor items. by making just these 4 new favor items you basicly downgraded all other favor item choices and made them less viable options.
Finally.
No it's insulting to state that there is only limited QA testing and that the major issues are time and a broad base. You'd have a broad base if people didn't leave because of desyncs, invalid gamestates, never ending connectivity screens and you've had months to figure this out. Something that didn't happen as often until the latest patch was released, hence everyone got the hell out of dodge (aka quit the game).

qa is always limited. it has no sense to test further after a certain level. the costs then are much higher than the use you get out of testing. btw. you can never say that some program really works because you cant proof that it works. you can just test if it does not.
and i really think that they do what they can. they just do it too slow. thats all.

I actually agree with this*, but not really sure with the rest of things. Still, the idea:
is not so bad, but only if they(shamblers) would keep their range att.(so no melee please), and be able to do 'root themselves with the' demigods & general minions only (not other creeps or towers) and do that only (randomly) if being attacked by(or very near to) meele enemies (so grabbing them, rooting them in place= just slowing their speed actually & reducing their health per second(doing dot))
But this is not the good place or time for suggesting this 'revolutionary & never-will-happen' kind of ideas. (I could also say that even your Lusting Scent isnt that bad idea when you think of Qot character/story)

As has already been said, these new favor items are just more of the same, and a bad direction to head in as it even further limits what will eventually be used in the pool. What is the point then?
I'd rather see all the remaining favor items buffed/altered to the point where we may see them in circulation a bit more, wasn't this the initial point of the favor items? To add variety to gameplay and differentiate same-dg clashes perhaps a little?
Please reconsider these new items. Go back and look at all the current ones that aren't being used first.
Simple thoughts
1. New favor items, are the dumbest idea... What we need a reblance of favor items no one uses to make them worthwhile. - Here is a hint for free. Magical Coin Pouch 15% discount on items over 500 gold plus -100 gold. This makes it super competitive because early game this person could by purchase scrolls and locks super cheap and feed the team. Not to mention low level upgrades. Only note is that you have to put a cap on totem of revelation to 3 on the battle field per team, if not you would have 9 of them at all times. hire me if you want more
2. Horn of battle DOES NOT need improvement. period
3. There is no need to debuff QOT, she is weak enough as it is.
4. the number 1 feature that should be addressed... Being abled to reconnect to a game if you crash. - I know we will never see this feature, but it's worth noting.
5. If someone does disconnect, there character should be replaced with a nightmare AI at the very least.
6. No new Demigods?
7. There should be an item and even an artifact that caps the effects of slow. I know there is a favor item, but besides that there are no other good ways of dealing with it.
8. Ice tb's cool down increase doesn't seem to always work. I've even seen my cool down times go up, but in 5 seconds return to normal.... Whats the point of that. If you guys fixed this it would make him more competitive.
9. Sedna's pounce should NOT break people out of grasp or freeze if Sedna is ON YOUR TEAM!!!.
10. QOT's mode switching should be reduced to 0 seconds even if it doesn't match the animation. This would make her much more useful.
11. Tb's mode switch should be reduced by 1 second to make high hybrid builds more useful. Example. being able to freeze someone and then do circle of fire while they are still froze should be possible.

i really wonder why they posted only a partial changelog. i mean is the patch finished or not? qa shouldnT enforce any changes to that. at most some of the noted changes aren't working as intended so they need to fix it. but this still does not explain why the changelog has been posted only partially.

indeed, the idea of making entourage as buffing aura for Qot and her (all!) minions is not bad (and it has already been suggested before) (i already stated my idea (with tribute being incorporated in entourage already)) and there are really plenty ways of making that skill better (true, some of it would require more work than just changing the existing numbers, but she really deserved that work/care), and her other skills.
The thing/the main point/definition of balancing is to make every skill equally appealing to chose for your build, so that it makes the hard choice for you (unless ofc, you have some strict favorable play style to stick with always. so it should in no way be restricted by some skill being better than other) That i call balance! And ofc, i know it is impossible to make that kind of (perfect) balance, but please you must try to come as much as close to that. Strive for it! (We are here to help )
If all Qot's skills would be at least closely equally strong/desired, you may not be always using the same 'bramble/groundspike/spike wave' build, but would be drawn to maybe try/switch to another one.
Yeah man, you said it right, they should/could have put items like that in too, if they really want to add those new ulti items!
But, again, i dont want that. Just remove those new items, please, and rebalance better the old ones!

i agree. more favor aura items are welcome! (i'm not really sure for Magical Pouch as with aura for team, that could be too good, having just one teammate to sacrifice his favor slot, but will reduce items cost to all team is pretty strong imo. That might even request fore another team to take it as well to counter it)
