OK, so I have been playing entrenchment for a few months now, Lan games or single player only. And after I get to a certain point in research, my ships stop auto attacking anything. usually it is enforcers but it has happened to most of my ships at one time or another. I have put them in a fleet, with several different kinds of flag ships, and i have left them solo. regardless the outcome has been the same, i get towards the end of the game and suddenly the only things that will move to attack are my capitals and my squadrons.
Am i a putz or can this be fixed?
herm... are you turning off auto-attack on a selection of ships by accident?
I've seen two sources for such things in "normal" Sins:
1) Fleets phase jumping (they should jump grouped together but won't ever do that). If I order the first ships to attack, all ships who did not yet initiate the jump will later also attack, but all ships which are currently jumping will simply MOVE to the enemy ship without fighting! HORRIBLE BUG!
2) Ships with special abilities often have very low attack damage. I haven't yet found a way to manually FORCE them to attack. Indeed, they ignore attack orders and thus even split the fleet (if there was an old command to leave the system) or try to MOVE to the enemy ship peacefully. If I leave them unattended, they do auto-attack the enemy. My workaround is to always give first a move order shortly ahead of my fleet and then the attack order. That's wasting much time!
Both is highly annoying. Any solutions?

I am turning it on and off on the ships that aren't attacking, making sure that IS on. Makes no difference.
This is Entrenchment but I have noticed the fleet deal-y and special ability ships. The support cruisers are usually ok, i dont care if they attack so much as they use their abilities, but having 100 enforcers waddling around a gravity well not firing at anything (after the entire fleet has arrived) poses a problem. I usually dont make fleets, just because of this, hoping that they will suck it up and kill something.
This happened to a mod I made. But I've never seen it in Entrenchment.
Send a save game of this behavior to support@ironcladgames.com. But first make sure you can reproduce it in the latest version just released today (1.04).

I experienced a case where I ordered my fleet of TEC units to attack a planet. My capital ships (Marza Dreadnought & Akkan Battlecruiser) did as ordered, but the rest of the battle group simply stood still at the edge of the gravity well (I had just jumped in). After repeated orders to the entire battle group I selected my five Krosov Siege Frigates separately, and finally got them to attack the planet. Once an enemy battle group jumped in to defend their planet my battle group started functioning just fine.
This was was while playing Entrenchment V1.04
I have since updated to V1.041, and haven't run into the problem as of yet.
So, I got the same bug with V1.041 today while playing a new game with Advent.
Emailed my save game -files to customer support.
