sure.. I can start saving / posting some replays. Most of the games aren't very 'good' (seems there tend to be 1-2 noobs that join every "no noobs" game).. but even then you can learn how to take advantage of a simple mistake early on.

Several mistakes on our team, most importantly was losing their portal flag due to miscommunication about 26 min into the game. Our oak also died 4x pretty early on which also wasn't good. Even though we died more times than they did and were about 1 level below them as a team, we managed to do a fairly decent job and in the end, had a superior strategy.Certainly not the greatest game ever, several mistakes.. but worth watching if you want some basic strategy, or gear choices / spec.. the importance of flag caplocking, importance of warscore for giants, etc.

-Couple great things is CosMoe playing a qot in a pug against a premade, and yet we still beat the premade Also, a great example of how dying 3-4 more times than the other team doesn't mean the game is over. You can still come back, even as a pug against an 80% + win ratio premade. Great game

- Someone had wanted an example of good 'horn of the battle' usage. I'd say this game had a great example of how and when to use it as erabus by my teammate homestar.
Other good points include: If you're a general, and you get low health early on, who cares? Stay in the lane, go cap mid, keep farming while your monks heal you back up. You'll gain the level advantage if they run back to base.. by the time they get back, you'll be full health again. Try to only go shopping when you NEED to. (the implied 1st part is, you buy monks, every time as any general).
If they cap your portal flag and you have a choice between getting theirs or defending them capping yours, and you're ahead on warscore.. cap their portal. I made the choice of teleporting to caplock the portal my teammate had died to get while their oak ran to cap mine. They kept that for a decently long time, however we had catapults and they were still war score 6. A better trade for us. Also, I think we lost the portal we got on their side when I was on the other side capping their other portal. Better to caplock a new portal and still have your tele to get out then to tele into an unsure situation just to keep the same advantage (of course, you better end up capping the new portal).
Watching that pug vs premade right now. Will take notes and put my thoughts on it, g0g0 dual monis
At 1:10, the initial fight, the premade has 2 generals and 4 monks at the fort flag, and a UB with no monks at the brilliance flag. Thats simply horrid.
2:52 He's fighting a UB and a QoT, and the Erebus (vdxman) is going with minions. Against a UB and a QoT, aren't minions just going to get oozed/ground spiked out of existence? Assasin Ere is great, so why not just use that.
3:52 Please, please, send Morouli some monks! He's getting pushed off his lane because of it, and of course the QoT and the UB are carrying the health flag. My premades method for dealing with a good QoT the first 8 or so levels: Don't. Just try to keep the damage contained and push where it isn't. Instead this premade is losing on both sides. They have about 3k combined health on their two towers now.
4:09 Alterschism and Rawwr heading back to shop at the same time. Both towers down really far, warscore 1247 to 914. heh. here's cosmoes first death. Almost out of mana, half health, staying in against the oak even though he sees the ere coming. Drops the shield, Alterschism teles in so they can hold the flag. Oak runs off, shields himself at 112 HP (nice) Alterschism chasing with Cosmoe behind. Cosmoes now out of mana, 524 HP, with an Ere beating on him. Oak escapes, cosmoe dies. Very touchy bit there - cosmoe staying in a bit too long even though completely undereqqupped - 4:48 and he hasn't been back yet, and both of their guys are a bit more itemized. Just a case of getting too aggressive in the face of bite+peniticence. Alterschism defintely could have gotten the kill had he stayed in past the shield, but getting out would have been tricky. Not sure what the right move was there - I always would have stayed on the oak and either gotten out, or had at least a 50% chance of death by tower. But my mates will tell you how crazy I can be Note: I've checked, and their guys aren't itemized at all. The ere is missing 1500 gold or so - did he spend it all on pots? Someone else tell me what he did with that gold.
5:09 Alterschism dies. Put off falling way too long in the face of a minion ere. Just a case of not realizing that he can't take him and falling back way too late. Icing on the cake, he dropped a health pot and still died. Could have gotten out of there easily if he hadn't tried to take the ere in a fight. Still have a 300 war score lead, but the PUG has lost both the side towers and two deaths. On the bright side, Cosmoe gets to shop now. That was a brutal bit of play for the PUG - Cosmoe staying in too long, alterschism having to tele in, missing the kill on the oak, then both dying. It's made worse by the tele and the pot alterschism wasted.
5:37 Cosmoe buys vlemish, then leaves with 500 gold. I'd always either get scale mail or some combo of tele/flag lock, or wait another 50 gold to get banded or scaled helm. Maybe he's the designated Currency bitch? Rawwr is still owning the left side, since poor Mourili can't get a monk sent to him to save his life. Neither team has taken the oppurtinity to get XP 1. Still not sure on that one myself, my teams been fooling around with it.
6:25 The tower finally drops. PUG is dominating both lanes still, but the other team just got to shop again. vdaxman, in particular, has 2830 gold. Keldener sold his banded/scaled and bought... Boots of Speed? Not sure on that one, speed hasn't been the issue yet. Heh. The ere also bought Boots of Speed and unbreakable to go with his Vlemish. They've both got the EQ slots, so why sell the banded/scale? And what are they planning with the speed they just stacked?
7:10 Oak/Ere uses speed to run out of combat. This is why I don't like stacking speed without a specific purpose in mind - sure you can escape, but the speed is the reason you NEED to escape. Except for the fact that they are facing a QoT early - thats a no win. Not sure why they keep on feeding into that grinder.
7:40 Rawwr abandons left side, goes back to shop. I hope he's getting currency. PUG has 2315 war score vs 1723 for PRE.
8:01 Rawwr buys Plenor and tower regen. Am I the only one that doesn't like tower regen? It buys you so little time on those towers.
8:11 Cosmoe dies again. Not sure on the buildup, was watching Rawwr shop, but the essence, I assume, is he sat in there against pene-bite. Bad dancing? Miscalculation? Not sure what happeend there. Alterschism gets out with a pot. Perhaps the stacking speed wasn't so silly - Cosmoe needs a bit of health, they are just outdamaging his shield and his health pool is tiny.
9:17 Alterschim gets Boots of Speed - I like speed stacking on fast people, when other people speed stack on you. You always do it better. Still can't outrun a peni/bite gank, but you can still chase them down. Cosmoe gets currency.
9:54 Cosmoe Blinks out of a gank situation. He's used that cloak so much I forgot he had it.
10:40 Cosmoe has some great staying power, with his shield, good mana regen, and mulching. He regens back his health so fast. Oak/Ere together still drain him really fast, but against any one of them alone he does fine. With under 2k health he needs a lot of micro to do it, but Cosmoe has that micro.
10:53 He still loses every fight. It's just impressive that he doesn't die as QoT
11:10 Raawwr and Alterschim were busy ganking Mourili. Didn't see how that one went down, was watching the ere/qot micro fight. I suspect Mourili overextended. War score - PUG 3186, PRE 2660. hrrm, stats show that this is the second time this gank has been pulled on the UB. Way to throw away a decent kill lead, Mourili. Note that all corner towers are down. This is why I don't like tower regen - it's not gonna save the towers at ALL. Note that after going up 3 kills, PRE still hasn't boughten currency, even at war score 4. Not impressed, at all, with this premade yet. No splitting monks, no currency.
13:12 Rawwr is absolutly CRUSHING mourili 1v1. That gold lead has to help a bit. Plus, of course, send the poor ub a priest or two. I mean, really guys. Ere ports in to save the portal after Raawr pushes that far chasing mourli, raawr just shields and ports out. Meanwhile the 2v1 on the other side gets chased back all the way.
14:50 Epic fight in the middle. Lots of chasing back and forth. PUG loses most of the fighting. I blame QoT. No damage output. War score: 4021 PUG 3630 PRE. They finally have currency.
15:16 Mourili absolutely SHREDS cosmoe in 1v1. Cosmoe forced to ping for Raawr to tele in and save him. Being as Raawr has been shredding Mouroli, punk should start running now.
15:41 Mouroli insted chases after QoT. QoT blinks out, Mourili sits there dumbly for a second, then remembers how badly Raawr owns him. Dies a bit past his portal - running from the start would have saved him. Meanwhile, since Raawr had to tele in to save Cosmoe in a simple 1v1, the 2v1 left behind leaves them with their gold mine capped. Raawrs domination of Mourli leaves him with a kill, and is now capping their gold mine. If not for the horrid decision making by Mourili so far, this game would be looking a lot different. Thats three solo deaths by him where he over extended. Not supposed to happen to your UB.
16:01. Ere taking the PUG right portal, with oak nearby taking down the gold mine towers. Raawr didn't cap their gold mine, even though he had two. Now mourili should just walk back up and take it back, since Raawr portaled over to make a 2v2 a 3v2. It's as if the PUG can't win equal fights.... *cough qot cough*
16:12 vdxman dies. I wonder how an ere was caught out like that. ooooh. he doesn't have batswarm. Still going with Pure bite/minion, even though he's almost always facing a ooze UB. "interesting" choice.
16:45 Morouli takes back gold mine flag and pushes brilliance flag. A lock their for Raawr would have kept it at least 20 seconds longer, and forced him to backtrack or wait it out.s Both gold mine flags are back in the proper owners hands now. War score is 4489 - 4190, in favor of PUG. PUG .... has XP 1 now? Why didn't they get it earlier then? They bought it sometime after the 13th minute, I suspect.
18:03 raawr pings for backup. Gets the minion ere in a 2v1, and QoT comes in time to save him from the oak. Raawr is single handely winning this now - being alone in the lane against Mouroli sans priests has given him a level advantage, and Mourli equppied him out nice. keldener gets out with 200 HP. meanwhile, Alterschism just took Mourouli in 1v1 and got the kill. If I was his teammate I'd be mad right now. War score PUG 4938 vs 4625 PRE, and the 2v2 battle that Raawr won singlehandedly has given them the left PRE portal, which got locked. Rawwr is now fully equppied, plus sigil.
19:00 Oak is pushing PUG's left portal, but Alterschism and Raawr were both at their citadel. Rookie mistake, at least make them burn ports to get over. I bet he gets ganked.
19:15 Oak gets ganked. Stops to fight (why oh why) which lets both the QoT come in from the middle and Raawr catch up from behind and peni him. Didn't even put up a shield. Didn't even try to tele out. WTF he was thinking, I don't know.
19:33 PUG is using the 3 man team they formed to gank the oak to push PRE's right portal. Mouroli is there fighting them 3v1 (how the lad loves to feed) whil vxdman is grabbing PUGS gold mine flag. Dude... at least push up and grab the portal - you KNOW where all 3 people on that team are.
19:41 Mouroli dies. Didn't even last 10 seconds. vdxman grabs PUG's gold mine, and runs off after capping it, never going after the portal at all. PUG is about to own all four portals - and I expect Raawr is about to tele over and recapp PRE's left portal.
20:06 vxdman finalyl decides to go for the portal. A bit late laddy. Cosmoe ports over and is now chasing vdxman down. Why vxdman RUNS from cosmoe I don't know. Kelderner teles in to the capped gold mine to help him out. Raawr ports into tower to help out cosmoe, as does Alterschism. Meanwhile, PRE is sans two portals, and Mourouli runs... to the one that is locked, leaving the unlocked one alone. Oh, mouroli. Going to a capped flag as your teamates are getting 3v2'ed.
20:29 Keldener dies. vdxman gets out fine. Still no batswarm... wtf is he doing.
20:51 Hard to run when the enemy has your portals. He ran to the portal instead of the middle, and Raawr and Cosmoe teled into it and ganked him. Why why why run towards the enemys flag? War score is getting brutal, 6097 PUG to 4977 PRE, and PUG has all portals. This game is over. No point in watching more.

Are you guys sure this is a premade? Keldener and vxdman worked together, but Mouruli was basically doing his own thing on the right side - mainly, dying. They got currency way late.

I died quite a lot due to unexpected burst damage of Bite+Pentinence+Oak AA+NightcrawlerAA, clearly not my best "work" here...
Here's a better example of my QoT style. Best watched from my perspective to see coordinated Mulch area damage and team investments (Curr1 + Curr2 + Giants). Also, notice the Cloak Jump Shield Save at 17:50 and the sneaky Mulch kill at 23:05.
Ya I don't usually buy a lot of cit upgrades early on as oak. As UB / Reg I found I had been buying almost all the early cit upgrades yet still gearing fine. As oak I find myself useless until I get ~5k gold (2 helms, unbreakables, 2 tele's) and level 7-10. After that, Ill save up and buy creep upgrades when we need them and I have the gold for them. But ya.. I definitely like xp 1 and 2, cur 1, and fs1.
Definitely agreed on how stupid it was not to give ub a monk while they had 4 on the other side. I enjoyed it
As far as my lack of a cap on that flag ~16 min in.. UB was dead and I knew oak / erabus were down by our gold flag as they had just capped. So I went back to farm creeps until ub rez, then I'd caplock it and keep farming or do w/e. However, I saw erabus down on portal and had to leave immediately to get it back and potentially kill him. Didn't know ub was on the way as well.
Also, yes they are for sure premade... although they don't play all the time. When they do play.. it's always together tho.

This game forced me to think a little bit more than I usually do.. one of the longest games I've had in a while.Anyway, Kalel and I learned several things from this game. How to counter more tricks I guess. I made several mistakes myself.. but most of it we were just trying to end the game faster, as we had a lead that surely scored us victory and we just wanted to hurry it up. We should have sat back a little bit, thought things through, and gone back out (like taking a timeout in football / basketball so you can pull some super play lol). They did a great job of prolonging the game as long as they could (which, had we lost focus entirely, might have tripped us up enough so they could pull back into the lead by grabbing a portal and never losing it).

I'm bored, so I think I'll go through and comment on that match also. I have no idea who wins going in, so that should add some fun.
Looking just at the teams, I like forces of Darkness (henceforth DARK). Rawwwr, abuggerdhedgie, and Kalelsmx as UB/Sedna/EB vs dice/playground/morhpheas, just because LIGHT has a Rook, and forces of darkness has an inherent advantage in any cataract match.
The interesting point here will be Playground as the rook, I think that will decide the game. He's gone with Amulet of Teleportation, which I find to be a poor choice and a crutch, but it can work out decently. Playground at the brilliance flag (why is the rook not at the fort flag), Dice with blood at the fort flag, along with Morpheas, also with blood. (UB, Ereb). Forces of Darkness are lining up with Rawr at the fort flag with abuggered, Rawr as UB w/ Blood, and Buggered as sedna with no favor item yet (a move I agree with). Kalel as EB with blood is at the mana flag against the rook. I'm going to mostly watch the rook this game.
:54 Morpheas hasn't split his monks, both are at the fort flag with him and the UB, leaving Playground without a monk. Serious critical error. DARK has a general on each side with monks, so not aplicable to them. The sedna/UB has carried the fort flag, rook is of coure holding the mana flag, and Dice has walked over to grab the XP flag for LIGHT while their two are holding the fort flag.
1:19 LIGHT gets fort flag for abotu 2 seconds before RAWWRRR shows up to turn it back. Dice has 940 health so is in no shape to pick a fight over it.
1:24 Kalel drops a mass charm on the tower/creeps against the rook. He's using that instead of bite level 1 - a very interesting move. I'm not sure I like that,. He did almost nothing with that stun, instead of the 500 hp swing that is a bite.
2:10 Playground gets forced off the brilliance flag, and is teleing back to base. Another 800 hp and he'd still be in, or at least the Staff of Renewal for late game awesomeness. Isntead, he's just teleing with his amulet. He'd still be holding the flag if he had a monk.
2:19 He teled over to the fort flag. He's got 1400 hp. He chases off the Sedna with the help of Morpheas's EB. He should have been there from the start, IMO.
2:40 Kalel takes 1k off the corner tower. he's going minions, which is smart against a sedna and another erebus. The only one that can really fight a minion ere well is the UB. Morpheas on the LIGHT side is going minions also. We've got playground at the fort flag vs Buggered and Rawr, and Dice 1v1 vs Kalel at the mana flag (WITHOUT A MONK! COME ON MORPEHAS). Morpheas is meanwhile taking the xp flag back - otherwise DARK holds all 3 flags.
2:59 Kalel smartly waits until the mana flag goes yellow then heads in to chase off Dice. he leads off with a mass charm (WHY OH WHY) and wastes mana. he's now got no mana for a bite, in exchange for an entire second of stun - during which he was not even engaging dice. Dice and Kalel both leave the flag at the same time, but it's switched to LIGHT control. Why is kalel charming instead of biting??
3;40 Playground does a horrid approach on the tower, gets hit for about 1k hp by it. Meanwhile kalel is comin back at full health and he has no towers up. Good thing he can just tele out...
3:48 Buggered dies over at the health flag. Not sure what happened, wish I had a rewind button. Kalel wastes a tele coming over, far too late to do anything, instead of taking the abandoned mana flag. Kalel wastes more mana on a mass charm, then runs off as Playground teles in. LIGHT is now up a kill and has all 3 flags.
5:20 Playground gets his tower approach right this time, gets the right DARK tower down to 1240 before Kalel shows up to chase him off. LIGHT has 1472 warscore to 1281 for DARK now. I'm not sure how Buggered died, but KALEL using mass charm so much has been seriously hurting his efforts.
6:09 Neither team is dancing well at the fort flag. It's sloppy 2v2 play.
6:27 Morpheas alone at the fort flag, UB and rook at the mana flag. Why won't he split his monks?? DARK has pulled the warscore equal again.
7:17 Dice and Playground team up at the middle flag. Playground teles out before the flag is turned, just in time for buggered to come in and chase off Dice, getting a free flag turn. Playground just had to wait one second more. Meanwhile Rawr was using the free lane to knock off a lot of HP off the left side LIGHT tower.
7:32 Playground buys Currency and Unbreakable with the cash he's been saving. Right move at the right time. DARK doesn't have currr yet (although they have the warscore). Dark is up 2100-1990 in warscore.
8:13 Kalel buys xp 1. Good move, but someone needs to get them curr (and they could have boughten that a while ago if they wanted it).
8:32 Rawrr is heading back to base. I hope he gets curr.
8:45 Rawr gets vlemish instead.
9:28 DARK holding both side flags and about to pick up the middle. 2531 to 2409 warscore, in their favor. Playground and Dice are both at the mana flag at middling-low health, vs kalel at full health/mana. And Kalel has priests. Oh, morpheas, just split the priests already.
9:53 Rawwr teles over, ganks Dice with the help of Kalel. This is why you can't stay in at someone elses flag at such low health without priests. Playground got out with 37 HP.
10:00 DARK has currency. I think buggered just got it. About 600 warschore behind schedule, over 2 minutes after LIGHT. Thats a big error. Being the only ones with xp1 will help a lot though. DARK has LIGHT's left tower down, after the gank.
10:53 Morpheas had Plenor before Vlemish. He adds Vlemish now, but really, why Plenor first? No idea. Warscore is 3015 - 2716 in favor of DARK. Their Sedna is dominating the fort flag, while Playgrond is teling around doing a whole lot of jack shit. Tower rook controls the fort flag, this isn't rocket science...
11:54 3v3 ensues at the fort flag. LIGHT does a bad job focusing fire in the 3v2 that happens before KALEL ports in and mass charms a rook's hammer slam (first good use of mass charm he's had all game). LIGHT forces them off the fort flag, but mostly because Buggered and Rawwr had been banging at the tower before this and are out of mana. Warscore is 3300-3000 DARK.
12:32 Playground teles over to the brilliance flag. Great, except he left Morpheas in a 2v1 at the Fort flag.
12:54 Rawr teles over to take on Playground, and Dice coems in to help. LIGHT wins the 2v1 at the mana flag and rawrr is sent shopping. Meanwhile buggered is taking the middle flag back and the two ere are staring eachother down at the fort flag.
13:08 In an absolute horrid move, Rawwr comes back in towards a 2v1 with about 1400 health. Boulder roll/spit and a bit of chasing later, Raawr is ganked. No clue what he was thinking there.
13:25 playground teles back to fort flag, him and Morpheas gang down the tower, taking advantage of the player off the board for DARK. He's getting away with the amulet of tele through some poor play from DARK. DARK left tower droips.
14:14 Playground buys XP 1. Kinda late, but still good. He'll thank RAWR for the funds.
14:28 Kalel wastes another mass charm.
15:16 Kalel dies. It's as if he didn't have mana for bat swarm or bite for some reason...
15:22 Rawrr dies in the middle of LIGHTS gold mine towers. He got Playground first though, too bad KALEL wasted his good work. At least Forces of Light got the kill on RAWR.
15:31 Buggered drops the lock on the fort flag (first of the game, I think) and hightails it out.
15:38 Dice chases and gets hit by the two towers. He's never catching that sedna who is heading back anyways, he pulled back a bit too late.
16:17 Everyone is pretty itemized. DARK leads 4299-4109, but Dice has been fed 3 kills so far. He's got 3k gold, Narmoth, Unbreakable, Nimoth, Boots of Speed, and the Hauberk. 6130 HP without the fort flag.
16:49 Buggered keeps the fort flag locked while Rawr and KALEL send DICE back to base on the other side.
17:36 Rawwr Buggered and Kalel come into the tower farm that Playground had set up at hte locked fort flag, Morpheas and Dice are unable to bale out Playground and he goes DOWN. Moral of the story: Rooks should not set up camp on a locked flag. You can't ever tele out against good competition.
18:20 Dark has all three flags (the fort flag under perma lock) and a 5103-4547 war score lead, and the gank on Playground has made up for the two huge mistakes by Rawr and kalel earlier.
18:50 Dark is a bit underitemized compared to Dice, but they just picked up xp 2. Not sure it;s worth it, but they still should have this in the bag. 600 warscore and a better DG combo.
19:01 Rawwr does the most wasteful tele I've ever seen. I think he teles 20 feet. DARK has a nice 3v1 going on past the fort flag, trying to get LIGHT gold flag, but meanwhile Playground and Dice are taking their gold flag and threatening more - and two of DARK just burned teles getting to the fort flag.
19:32 all three DARK tele over, but too late as their flag is capped. They'll try to gank playground on the walk back, but they failed to get the LIGHT gold flag. A boulderroll and Wand of Speed and Playground is out. DARK just burnt 5 teles to lose their gold flag.

This is where my permade will normally attack both portals at once - we always get at least one - but DARK is just trying route 1. It's not working.
28:38 Citadel drops. They lost this game (other then the silly mistakes leading to deaths early) through poor strategic play. At 19:01 all three teling in to relock a fort flag while two people pushed their gold flag, and then at 23:22 when giving up their Portal and gold mine flag (and they never get them back) completely unchallenged.

Miscommunication over teleporting. I was told there was going to be a double-port and stuck around a few seconds longer than I should have, thinking I was getting support. But I was still overextended. IIRC, I had about 40% HP and no mana. Still a bad position to be in, even with the annouced teleports.

What happened? 2 of us ported when only 1 of us was neccassary, which allowed the team to simply walk into the portals and take it and keep it locked down for the rest of the game.
That was it. Note that they weren't in our Fog of War while we were porting, they walked forward after we had finished the port (they were probably capping the Fort flag as we were going in).
You do mention this later, but yeah, the second I saw TWO of us had ported in and not one, I said 'oh, we just lost'. Sure enough Rook and UB rush the portal while we are cooldown.
This is pretty much THE key turning point and I was going to throw that out when I saw that playground had posted this replay but I was on my iTouch and couldn't type coherently so...
In reflection, we probably should have push their portal while our TP's were on cooldown, got that one, then teleported back to base after the cooldown was expired (IIRC, I was at 9 seconds when the UB stepped on the flag).

Probably a fail at an interrupt. If I anticipate a lock I do save it, rather than use it offensively (if you watch me, it's actually pretty uncommon for me to open with a pounce or use pounce mid-fight. Typically the only time I blow a pounce early is to get them chased off earlier rather than engage in a prolonged battle).

Because he had 1800 hp? And Mass Charm stops interrupts anyway so he can Charm->Lock. You can interrupt a charm just as 'easily' as a lock, sure, but if you pounce the Charm he then just locks anyway. If you miss the Charm he Bat-Swarms away, you've done no damage.
Anyway, I will certainly agree that this was a poor game on my part, this was pretty much right before I took a break for a few days (more-or-less) and my last several games had been more than shoddy. Thought about this game a fair amount, and I do agree with a lot of what you said, even if I had come to realize it in-game.
