This is not a thread to bash this change.
I would just like to point out that my Rook's escape plan is out of the picture. I spent 1250 gold to get wand very early as an escape plan. However with the 500 gold increase, i would rather be buying cur1 or exp1 before I buy this wand.
Gold is extremely percious in the beginning of the game (for citedel upgrades). Wand of speed is also more useful in the beginning when I need to maneuver for exp and flags. Unforunately by the time i get both wand and citedel upgrade my team is ready for real combat. Usually I am not ready.
This is a good thing in a way, lets me focus on items earlier to prepare for combat. Looks like i will be relying on totem of revelations for those quick (sic) getaways.
Change in pricing = change in strat.
For the benefit it offered, it was too cheap. It also lets you have your armor slots free. It needs a price increase.
I think that's some of the point, though. I'm looking forward to figuring out all the adjustments I'll have to or want to make based on these changes... backtracking to the last item price change, I think they went over board on the heart of life nerf... I honestly haven't purchased that a single time since the change went in. So, I changed strats because of that. Just be glad they didn't move it to the artifact shop and bump its price by thousands!
link to the thread which states the item price has changed?
well atleast this change will bring in more of a challenge for those speed stackers, until they get journeymans ofc, that proc is total bs.

meh, only 500g, not that much of a big deal, still well worth the money.
SO much so that i think it needs another nerf to make it useful again. I don't mind it being in the artifact shop so much but maybe a price tag like 8K might be more appropriate?
Seriously, how many have bought it since the nerf?
An 8k price tag would be fine. Even make it something like 7-6k.
If they have the stat, I'd love to see how many people actually have bought HoL after the price jump. I think people might actually use the item again if the price dropped. I think 8k would be about right.
I use the heart of life sporadically with rook. 30 HP a second is pretty amazing, and it's a 4500 heal and 9,000+ mana restore if you can get the full duration off.
The problem with HoL is kind of a common one amongst items with cooldowns, they're generally very poor on maps like Leviathan and quite strong on maps with celerity flags if you also pick up the staff of renewal. With a 39 second cooldown it's really pretty good, at 60 seconds, not so much.
I really don't use it with any other DG though, and especially not generals. I think 10k would be more reasonable for it, I do feel it's stronger than a mageslayer with its current stats.
I like the price change. I used to get it almost every match because the price was so low and the boost so worth it. I think this will force players to choose different paths.
i dont get why there making it more, the wand of speed is not an unfair item cause everyone in the game had the same cost for it thus letting everyone who "WANTS" to use it use it but if u didnt get it then thats ur fault.
i dont think theres a reason for the price increase and posidenii makes a very good point too.
HOL is useful but many a SMALL nerf in place. Like 10K
Wand of Speed I dont disagree with unless you have the Rook. But personally I think the Rooks armour and health stats need more fiddiling to make it worth it slow speed
I'd have rather seen shorter duration on it than price increase; oh well.
I can live with the price increase, but would really like to see the "cancel last order" bug that it is afflicted by fixed. I think many of the instant cast items have this issue and it's a real PITA.
Great they made HoL not worth it now speed wand isnt as worth it
Its only an extra 500 gold. I usually got it becasue it was so cheap and gave an amazing boost. Sure it wasnt constant but it is reusable.
Think about it boots of speed give you 10% all the time. The wand gives 25%, that is signifigantly more, for only 200 more gold (now 700).
Sure its not always on, and if it were it would be OP. Heck Journymans are 15% for like 6-7k.
This is a good change.
When is speed ever not worth it. They could make the item 2k, and I would still buy it with every dg. perhaps later than normal. On the most basic level - speed = helps you kill = more money, speed = helps you stay alive = less deaths = less enemy money. And as we all know, money is important in this game.
Posiden, it hurts your rook in that you cannot pressure enemy towers as early as you would like to while still having a viable escape plan. Just means you need to play a more conservative rook from now on. But a change of pace is good right? I mean, you have like 800+ games, would you really want the game to stay exactly the way it is? Wouldn't that bore you?
