Ironclad and Stardock are teaming up once again on the second micro-expansion pack for Sins of a Solar Empire . Dubbed, Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy, the new micro-expansion pack will vastly increase the amount of diplomatic options available to players in the game and help make forging good relations with other empires a major option for would-be galactic conquerors. The beta is due out this Fall with the general release Winter 2010.

A year long beta? Unless something goes horribly wrong, I don't think so. I'm thinking February 2010, just like Entrenchment.

Winter 2010 almost certainly means February/March, not December. Winter doesn't end until mid March.
I really enjoy sins and was thirlled with entrenchment. Looking forward to hearing some more details on this.

they were planning to make exactly three, with the third about new offensive weapons and ships, and then possibly move on to a sequel

i think Sins2 is where they want to go with the franchise. But any info on that seems hush hush. All I've been told is wait for PAX

I'd be all for Sins 2 being single player only, with a story to follow along ( ala homeworld).
Only diplomacy left then... just hoping sins2 doesn't turn out like supcom2...

No, i was talking about the changes in supcom2, if you've been to those forums lately it's not pretty... the entire community (practically) is screaming NO!!! and the devs are just laughing to themselves... But let's not drag that fight here, forged Alliance was an improvement IMO over the original, just took some getting used to.
Anyway, back to sins, diplomacy looks great and hopefully it won't be the last x pack.
