I pre-ordered it, looks amazing. Anyone else looking forward to it?
Definitely looking forward to it! I was kind of curious, then I tried the demo and curiosity changed in to "MUST HAVE!"
Yes, me too tried the demo and game is looking awesome. I will buy it when it will be available.
I got the Amazon pre-order, to get the free comic with it PC version > consoles , this is fact.
What a frickin' awesome game! Probably one of the better ones I've played lately. Post your feedback as to what you guys think of it.
I finally played the demo last week. I was very impressed. I won't say it'll be the best game ever, lord knows we've had some bombs of Batman games...but it seemed pretty damn cool.
(And I still haven't watched the last Batman movie, heh.)
I got it for my new PS3, also have it pre-ordered for my PC.
Love the Joker Challenge maps.
So far 36% done on normal, and its quite a good game, lots of nods and winks to characters that were in batmans past.
Pirates Foiled by Deliberate Glitch in Batman: Arkham Asylum
Pirate posts help request for "glitch" in official Edios forums ahead of games launch PC games are some of the most pirated software out there, as players look for ways to get the game they want without having to pay the $50 asking price most new games demand. Eidos, the publisher behind the PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, has introduced a deliberate glitch into the game to catch and foil pirates who try and crack the game to play without paying. One person who pirated the game, and was brazen enough to post a help request on the official Edios forums, ahead of the games actual launch mind you, has brought the glitch to the surface. A poster going by the handle Cheshirec_the_cat posted in a thread requesting help with a problem in the game. The poster wrote, "I've got a problem when it's time to use Batman's glide in the game. When I hold , like it's said to jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding. So he fels down in a poisoning gas. If somebody could tel me, what should I do there." An Edios admin going by Keir responded to the thread before it was closed writing, "The problem you have encountered is a hook in the copy protection, to catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free. It's not a bug in the game's code, it's a bug in your moral code." lulz

Good. I LOVE stuff like that. The FADE system Bohemia Interactive has used in their series does the same sort of thing.
I played through a pirated version on the PC to see if there were any differences verus the 360 version (I was about to pay for the same game twice) and had absolutley no problems going from beginnning to end using a cracked version. Well minus the keyboard controls being kinda crappy. I ended up using a 360 controller.
Amazing game so far.
The first crack that was out with the pirated version was bugged yes. You couldn't glide, saved games wouldn't work, and certain grapple points weren't present where they needed to be. It was noticed and cracked properly within the first day the pirated copy was out. The person who was stupid enough to post on the official forums was also unlucky enough not to see or download a proper crack. The Direct2Drive version was the first one ripped and posted online. The second one was a proper Rip and Crack done by the group "RELOADED". The Reloaded release even supports the official patches and the PhysX add-on and has a crack for the patch alone as well.
When the game was first released on Direct2Drive the game wasn't complete. The Physx wasn't in the PC version at this point. That's very odd because the Physx was in the PC Demo before the Direct2Drive version was released. EA and Edios both released statements on their forums saying the PC version was being held back and not released the same day as the consoles because they needed the extra time to add in the Physx system. I Don't believe that for a moment. They knew damn well before hand if they would have released it for the PC the same day as for the consoles that they'd loose a LOT of business to people pirating the PC version. Which they did. They aren't stupid which is shown by them at least trying to put in a bug to thwart piracy. It was a nice try, it's been done before, and it was fixed and bypassed within 24 hours of the initial release.
I don't support Piracy, no, but Eidos and EA pulled a Epic Fail in my eyes. I've been in the game way too long to not see shoddy business practices like this a long way off. I could have bought this for my X-Box360 but I waited and got the PC release. Simple reason, my PC is more powerful then 5 360's. The PC version should have been, if anything, superior to the console releases. The Only reason they held the PC version back and delayed the game play experience for those like me, waiting for the PC release, was so they could try to make more money and not take the hit from the Pirate groups.
Ahhh true, Raven X. Yea I didn't DL it when it was released on torrent sites. I did it like 2 weeks ago. But that is pretty funny. What pisses me off about certain copy protection is when they limit installs. I mean seriously, did you buy the PC version of Unreal Tournament 3. They only allow you to install it twice. So anytime I feel like playing unreal, if I formatted my machine or removed it to play something else, is by calling up Epic and having them make it work . It's even more bullshit because having a pirated version of UT3 doesn't do anything for you. You need a legit copy to play multiplayer.
It's from Eidos and Warner Bros, as far as publishing goes.
I've never heard anything like this. UT3 wasn't even protected by a disc check, you needed a key to log on but once that key is registered you should be able to log onto that account from any machine you like, as long as it's only one machine logged on. Were you trying to make a new account instead of using your old one?
Unless you can prove it, I'll have a damn hard time believing it, since I've had the game on three machines and never had to contact them or heard of anyone who did.
