Just a little reminder to the team behind 1.2:
because we will now have 10 demigods please remember to add the option to not allow doubles, as it was promised in early beta. if its good or no good I know alot of people would want it and it shouldt be too hard to implent.
that is all.
I'm nor for or against this, but isn't it just as easy to say in a lobby, no doubles?
This makes it easier id say
If it takes lua coding to do I'd rather see that time spent on improving the interface in more practical ways. Team health bars, self-targetting via the portrait or something else, that kind of thing.
Doubles is a sorely overhyped issue.
I'm not that good at math - being only a software engineer and all - but wouldn't more Demigods tend to make doubles less likely anyway?
whats so bad about doubles?
some ppl may want to play doubles, and disabling it will stop those ppl from doing so. as its been said b4, just say in lobby "NO DOUBLES".
u might think im saying this coz i like to play doubles, but no i dont actually. This game doesnt need any restrictions, leave it as it is, 'ppl can choose wat they want'.
I think Obscenitor pretty much wins here. Doubles not that big of a deal where more important fixes/improvements can be made.
Whats the advantage of doubles??? Thereisno
I'm not talking about doubles, its not that bothering me.
What I want to say is that in a 5v5 match it would be nice that each player will have a different demigod, and a full game with all demigods should be nice.
In early beta the makers of the game (TyoArk I think) said there will be that option and when it got canceled I know alot of people were upste so I thoght now will be a good time to have that option.
It should be hard to implent so why not ?
Actually, it's going to make them a lot more likely, initially : it won't be 10 demigods, it will be 8 old and 2 new. For a coupla weeks after 1.2 is released, everybody's gonna want to fiddle with the two new demigods...
That said, I agree it's a very low priority feature imho. Especially since it wouldn't be compatible with the random teams option.
If both are released together (which might or might not happen) it wouldn't be so bad, but I think that the fact that they're releasing two new DGs is only an argument in favor of not bothering to ban doubles. Early on lots of people want to try the new hero, later on there's a greater variety and less likelihood of doubles.
In the skirmish and pantheon you will still face doubles, and he custom games are far too coocked up to enjoy imo. In the end you can always ask others to switch DGs if there are doubles. This is something not possible in the skirmish and pantheon.
It is therefore already very doable avoid doubles. Even when doubles exsist they are not that much of a pain as there are non-double combo's that are just as powerful as doubles.
