I looked in Impulse and I noticed these themes are not listed in there. So I go to the page where it shows my registrations, I try one of the serial numbers and it says "There was an error validating your registration."
But all of my other themes I own just installed and validated fine? Is Stardock issuing bad serials?
and where did you get those .suite (including Gloss-Burgundy update ...) ?
I just purchased Object Desktop Ultimate and this is all wincustonize or stardock says.. Under my downloads the is just the green theme.. No links. no downloads.. no email.. no keys.. Beginning to wonder if my money was better spent elsewhere..
Neophil click on the link in reply #9 of this thread. You should see a Wincustomize page with all your registrations on it. Scroll down to the "MyColors Gloss"s, click on the 2nd download link for each one. Those links are zip files which include the .suite files.
Jimehc - the themes are made available to OD subscribers who have subscriptions at the time the themes are released. They don't accumulate - someone who buys/subcribes to Object Desktop today doesn't get the themes that have already been released, they get the themes released aftwerwards while their subscription is still active.
There are 4 free themes (the one you already have and 3 more) which you can get here:

Thanks a lot
This is how I read it..
Object Desktop subscribers can download them via Impulse in the "My Software" area. If you don't have Impulse, get it from www.impulsedriven.com
I purchased Object Desktop last evening and went thru a long download list of software.. I have yet to see a how to / help file.. And then it wants to install fences, and an Impuse docking station.. I downloaded and acrived the installation and removed most to all the software.. But to reinstall the software requires another download..
I am quit dissappointed in my purchase, I made the purchase to use bootskin vista, the free version wont allow you to create a bootskin..
I also dont like the impulse montering feature - I purchased software and should be able to download and save the install program(s) to disk..
And then be able to activate the software with a key code, not some montering software that requires a download everytime.. I am on satellite internet with a (Fair Access Policy) basicly my downloads are limited daily - so for me this practice of constant downloading is no good..
There appears to be a lot of things that I do not like about this software and impulse.. There are even more things they don't tell you before purchase.. Thing they offer that are not there. And it is assumed that the purchaser is a pro skinner.. what even a skin is or how one uses the software to create one, i don't know and have not seen HELP files..
Anyway the gloss pack was offer Free to Object desktop subscribers..
I want to let you know upfront that like most of the other posters here I don't work for Stardock - I don't want you to get annoyed with them for things that I don't know.
It sounds like you bought Object Desktop after the themes were released, that's probably why you're not seeing them. You might try emailing Stardock at sales@stardock.com and asking about the Gloss themes, they may or may not fix you up, I don't know.
Regarding the rest of it, you'll likely get better input if you start a new post in the Stardock Support - General forum. The title of this one will likely cause you to miss a lot of help. Generally speaking, the downloading is done through Impulse to install programs and updates. Other than that I believe the downloading is limited to whatever downloading of skins and such that you do, and whatever contacts certain widgets/gadgets (e.g., accuweather gadgets) make to get information.
Truth is that most of us who use Object Desktop don't skin - your member number is 3,769,889 and rest assured that there are not 3 and a half million of us making skins. (Some would say that's unfortunate, but then they've never seen anything I've tried to cough up .) Looking at all that software at first can be a little overwhelming, but once you pick a few pieces to focus on (like WindowBlinds for example) it's not such a huge deal.
I hope this gets you on a better track.
if they announce it on the 13th and you purchase on the 14th... seems it should be there for you..
click on the Impulse Icon in the upper left hand corner and make sure that 'Show freeware and demos' is selected.
They are only added to the accounts of current subscribers. You get them if they are a current subscriber when they are released. Otherwise, you can buy them (when generally released) at a discounted price.
Wasn't sure at the time I posted, due to the various promotions ya'll run every so often... but after a 2nd read...
jimehc
those offered to subscribers are not the same as those offered to new subscribers
if I had paid a little more attention to detail I probably would have said that instead of #34
DaveRI is right, most of us don't skin... but we use the ODNT version so we can modify what's uploading to fit our needs - like setting new links into DesktopX
There's some skinning stuff posted at Wiki: Skinning Your PC: Tutorial Index - WinCustomize Wiki
It will give you the basics of just applying/using what's uploaded here with what you got
basically, tell what a skin is and how to use it - some of the tutorials will also give you a start on skinning
(there is no simple how to for skinning - you gotta be good with graphics and coding)
Some of it's somewhat dated (they are posted by skinners) but still will give you a heads up
Some of the apps have a help file - skin studio has a 'how do i" as part of the help menu t help you along
Some like DesktopX have a 'Product Documentation' guide on the individual web page:
ex: https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/
bottom right corner is "Product Documentation" which take you to a help file which include some basics on creating (not for the easily frustrated)
learning how to use the software is easier than creating -creating is not easy - but there are lots of people willing to help you out with either aspect
There are many great features available to you once you register, including:
