Had to restore my PC from an image backup. Reinstalled Impulse. Just after install, it did an upgrade.
Before the restore and reinstall, there was an Apps tab that showed all my apps. Now, there is no Apps tab at all! So, how do I get that back?
Is there a My Software Tab?
No. There's only Explore, Community, and "+".
I right-clicked the Orb and confirmed that I have pre-release stuff checked.
Reinstall the latest build: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe
Before reintalingl as Zubaz suggests you also might want to try clicking on the Impulse Icon in the upper right hand corner, select Preferences and then click on reset data. Doing that sometimes corrects lots of problems.
Neither accomplished anything!
I did the reset. No change in the tabs. I got a notice that an update to Impulse was available. I installed that update. Still, no change to the tabs.
I then clicked the link in the post, downloaded the file, and ran it. It uninstalled Impulse and installed it again. No change to the tabs.
Okay, try one more thing, click on the (+) and select Manage Tabs you can add and delete tabs there. If it show the My Software tab is it hidden?
Already tried that. There are only two tabs listed: Explore and Community. There is no listing for a My Software tab.
Try then adding the missing tab and see what happens.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but have you logged in to Impulse and put your serial numbers in?
Very good question Wizard. I also wonder if the restore process from the backup has something to do with this.
Have you checked the HDD to see if the apps are there after you applied the backup?
Just thinking here, the backup should have had Impulse, and you say you reinstalled Impulse, Do you now have two copies of Impulse installed?
...why?
OK, working now.
To answer all the questions:
1) Impulse was not in the backup because I had installed it after I made the backup.
2) Which is why I had to install Impulse again after the restore. I had to do the restore because after installing another product, lots of standard system stuff wouldn't work anymore -- even after uninstalling that product.
3) Added My Software tab to Impulse, but upon opening it, it prompted me to input serial numbers -- which I did, for WB 6.
4) After I did 3) I suddenly got two more tabs: My Desktop & My Games. Opening My Desktop showed the full list of products.
So, it looks like inputting the S/N for WB 6 is what got everything rolling.
Thanks for the help!!
Update: Saw the entry in the Start Menu for WindowBlinds Beta 2, ran it, and SURPRISE, the WB 7 themes actually show up in the panel, can be seen in the preview area, can be selected -- and work!
I'm IMPRESSED! Really!
Okay, glad to see you got everything back.
Ahhh, you did make some notes for the next time?
