I have been very reluctant to post this here.
Monday the biopsy report came back and I have been diagnosed with Anal Cancer. I see the oncologist on August 12. There is one more diagnostic test to be done before treatment can begin: CT Scan. This is to determine what stage it is in. Stage IV is the worst (Metastatic), meaning it has spread to other parts of the body.
I hope you folks never get this!
Farrah Fawcett died after a multiyear battle with this.

Don't giveup You can kick that cancers ass.
What a horrible pun.
I realized that after I wrote it ;( it was supposed to be uplifting!
At least she knows what a PITA this is.
A friend is taking me to the ER in an hour or two, for treatment of edema in both lower legs, among other things. I can't put this off any longer. Hopefully I will be gone for at least a week, and maybe get the oncology part going faster.
I got out of the hospital the following Monday, after my 'tune up'. The oncologist ordered a CT scan, and, it is in Stage I or II, meaning that it has not spread to the lymph nodes. Fortunately, I did not have to argue with the ER doctor. I snapped at the ER RN, and she snapped back, but, she could see that I was in pain and stressed out. I apologized to her explaining why. They were giving me 2 mg Morphine for a while, then we switched to Percocet, which was 2 x 5/325.
I have home health care, since my lower legs, ankles and feet have to be compression wrapped 3 times per week. This is to prevent the edema from returning. My body no longer has the oomph to get rid of the fluid via the urinary tract, even though my kidneys are filtering properly. So all that collects below the knees, and in the lungs, and inside the pericardium.
I am very sorry for you that you have to go through this.
On the bright side, the university I went to (michigan) is one thats pioneering medical nanotechnology. They have had great success in rats, killing tumors without the terrible side-effects of chemotherapy (what my mother is currently going through). http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/3209/03-canc-nf.html
2 Univerisities in the netherlands are doing the first clinical tests using this new technology on humans. I really have my fingers crossed for this. It seems very promising! So hang in there and keep fighting until these kind of treatments are available to everyone.
I will pray for you and your loved ones.
I found out on Friday my father has prostate cancer. I don't have many words other than I wish you the best and may you have a speedy recovery.
Keep your and my family in your prays and I will do the same.
God bless
The solution is MOOD. Sit uptight and laugh all the way to the cure.
It works, i swear.
Your brain is actually healing and fights back using your sub-conscious arsenal.
Parapsychology saved me (and others!) more than once.

Thank you all. the end of the power port got sucked into my body, under the skin. As a result, I have to go back into the hospital to get it fixed. The end is a cube, and I never felt it go into my body. This sort of thing happens from time to time. Increased probablility of infection when this happens.
