Hello all and thanks for looking and helping.
I have a laptop, running vista.

I have bought Demigod, now I can't run it and i hope I dont need to update (comp is ~1 year old), also becouse i have no money and laptops are hard to upgrade.
Cheers, ElementalAoE
Hi and welcome.
What exactly is the problem? Does it just not load up? Does it produce an error? Does it just runs very slow?
In the last case updating all your drivers and Windows is a good place to start.
I see the problem.
The integrated graphic card (shared memory) VIA Chrome9 HC IGP is found on the VN896 chipset for notebooks. The integrated graphic processor (IGP) offers DirectX 9.0 3D acceleration and a video accelerator for the MPEG playback. Further adaptive De-Interlacing and Video deblocking are supported up to a resolution of 1080i.
The performance of VIA Chrome 9 HC IGP is only the halve of current competitors of integrated graphic cards (Intel GMA 950, AMD XPress 1100) and even is overextended with the DirectX 9.0 functions of the Aero interface (of Windows Vista) (usage possible, but only with motion interruptions).
3D games are not really running well on this video card.
That card is unfortunately under minimum specifications. An onboard chip, like you have, is often okay for 2D jobs like video watching, but not for 3d stuff like games. Your laptop will simply not work with most games, sorry.
twifightDG is very much correct. Integrated cards like this do not meet the minimum requirement to run Demigod.
128 MB 3D Video Card (ATI Radeon X1600 / Nvidia GeForce 6800 or better)
My Graphic card has 307 MB of memory. 128 MB is the minimum, i see no problem. 247 of it is dedicated, 60 is shared (wth i dont understand it lol)
I have my computer set to automaticly update all drivers on a weekly basis.
I get the "Hardware based instancing required, please ensure drivers are up to date" (something like that) error.
My computer runs all games well, 3D ones too. I mostly play online games (mmorpgs, most are 3D and have good graphics), also i play Mount and Blade (Dont comment my games choice please ) at the highest resolution lagless.
This is the first game i have a problem with, ignoring the games that arent vista-compatible.
I also noticed the game doesnt support Intel chips. As i said i have a :
Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T1500 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz
Is that the unsupportable one?
When i bought the game i looked it up at games for windows site, and that wasnt stated there.
Maybe i just bought the game and wont be able to play it at all. That would be sad
@Dash I don't know whether these cards can fit in my laptop. Also the numbers dont run like Nvidia GeForce 6800, Nvidia GeForce 6801, Nvidia GeForce 6802, Nvidia GeForce 6803... When i look in the shops there are different series, different numbers. How do i know which is newer than Nvidia GeForce 6800?
The game does indeed support Intel chips; your processor is not the issue here.
Those are the example cards listed in the game's minimum requirements. If your card isn't at least as powerful as those cards, then you will not be able to run the game properly.
Since my processor is ~1.9 GHz, and its dual core, is it 3.8 GHz in total?
Also i still dont know why wouldnt it be good enough -.-, its 207 MB video card.
Its 1 year old. All test I have run it through have shown it has passed.
What memory is it about then? 307 MB Graphic card, 3.8 GHz oughtta do it.
All the graphic performance tests, at some site (if i remember the adress ill post it)
I just installed SC and i get same error yeah...
My driver is the newest, i wanna make my driver do the instancing, how do i do that?
Can anyone point me to a better driver that would make me able to play it?
VIA Chrome9 HC does not have the capability for Shader Model 3 at the hardware level, which the game requires. That is the nub of the problem; new drivers cannot fix it, and laptops are generally not upgradeable.
Those cards listed in the game's minimum requirements are the earliest ones that supported SM3--the memory requirement isn't really the most important part of the requirement (I don't think any cards exceeding the requirement exist with less than 128MB).
Sorry, but the only solution would be to play the game on a new/different machine which does have capable hardware.
That blows....
I mean laptops being said to be like only for business....
I travel a lot and i play games on my travel and at locations i travel at, so a laptop is my only option.
There HAS to be a good GAMING laptop out there, i dont care if its 10 kilo heavy or if it is loud.
Only that hardware is new
This:

Is an awesome gaming laptop. The one I use.
I got it from:

Most brands have a specific 'gamer line' of laptops. The Acer's Ferrari series come to mind, and Dell's XPS series, I'm sure there are loads more but can't recall any names atm.
About the XPS series, they are said to be gaming but they are able to play even less games as mine can. Believe, my brother has one.
About the Asus computer, what are the stats? Size of graphic card, things like that.
Also i live in Slovenia, as you could guess from my language settings on my dxdiag stats, and here this one is very hard to find. It seems very nice though.
Oh and here is the A2 version-- or is it the same i dont know lol.
ElementalAoE - as indicated above, laptops often as lousy for their graphics support, even on good builds. I was lucky enough to get demigod to work on an integrated intel chipset, but could not get one of my friends Toshibas to work (similar specs to you). Integrated chipsets appear to be locked down by the manufacturer as they like to customize their drivers. That means, if the company you bought from doesn't want to update those drivers, you are screwed unless a hack comes out. If gaming is something you want to do on a laptop, the only advise I can provide is to ensure it has some sort of non integrated, current graphics card.
So, if you have an integrated graphics card on a laptop, its not a 0% you'll be able to get it to work, but the chances aren't high... and in my case, I was able to get demigod to run, but not run incredibly well, even on a core 2 duo processor.
Ah... But games never lag at me, if they play. Its like 1 and 0. 1 is it plays good and 0 is that it doesnt play at all.
Is this integrated or not integrated? I know alot about computer software, i know with computers, but the mechanics and hardware parts are my weakness... what could you expect from a girl
That one has a normal videocard, which is good Actually, looking at those specs that's an excellent gaming laptop.
Ah, thanks. Now to find where i can get it (shipped or bought in shop) in Slovenia >.<
Anyway if you want the absolute best gaming performance on a Laptop, you'd have to look out for any laptop that has an SLI system in it. For instance there are Alienware notebooks with 2 Geforce 280M in SLI mode available.
