I'll try to be positive, but its hard at the moment. I just played my very first 1.1 game (4v4 on Levi), and instantly, after his first death, 3 or 4 minutes into the game, Puck023 conceded.
3 or 4 minutes afterwards, Frostbyte2786, also instantly after his first death, conceded.
I know a lot of you are tired of hearing me complain about rage quitting, but I am tired of sitting down for a game and having it ruined. I know the concede option was added with good intentions, but I don't really think anything can be done about it. The community is just garbage.
So, after the stat reset, on my very first game, I get to eat a loss due to rage concedes.
There is no longer any reason to play Demigod at all unless you play with friends in premades, so that's exactly what I will do. And to all the people bitching about premades, you've all brought it on yourselves.
You don't need > 50% concede rate before it counts for the team?
How does this conceding work?
I don't know. All I know is they conceded out. I was not asked to vote.

I was playing a 2v2 recently. The enemy Rook asked his teammate for a concede, then left a second later.
Then the game crashed.
So conceding is equivalent to quitting now? They instantly leave the game?
I thought it would be a flag they set and if all the people on your team set the flag then the game would end.
maybe its bugged?
That was the impression that I got but in the end, if that were the case, it really wouldn't have helped much. If people were barred from conceding by the team of randoms, they still would have simply disconnected/quit.
All I figured that we'd get out of this feature is that the winners would no longer have to screw around with AI replacements.
I thought it was team concede, meaning that even if you see the message "player has conceded", it does not count as a concede unless the majority(?) of the people on your team concede.
Personally, I really like the concede feature.
Apparently. I see no reason why he would quit if he asked for a concede. I doubt he knew the game would drop him like that. Seems that if half the people on the team agree to concede they automatically leave.
EDIT: Also, I know his ally didn't agree to the concede because he complained about it.
Possibly.
As far as i know you don't quit if you concede but if you quit you concede in that order, so if the rest of the team concedes the game ends. If the game wouldn't count the quits as concedes the remaining players couldn't concede to end the game since the vote from the player that already left would be missing.
I hope I explained that right. no guarantee though.
sadly, it wouldn't be the first time something GPG added was bugged
i'll explaiN:
when someone RQs the system automatically counts a concede vote, he is still replaced by an a.i.
so when everyone of the opposing team RQs you automatically win and don't need to stomp the a.i.
there is however the option of voting for concede without quitting, so you can stay in the game until your team has agreed...
i love it
@OP what exactly are you QQing about? you would have lost most propably when you're stuck with an A.I.
so concede just saved you a lot of time, think about it
That explains it. The people from the OP's game were just being normal leavers.
what did i tell you conceding would ruin the game, now here you are and I think i was right.,
The "XXXX has asked his opponent to concede" text appeared on the screen before he quit, though. Then he left half a second after the text appeared. Also it said asked to concede, not "XXXX has conceded" or whatever.
They would still have quit, albeit using ctrl+alt+delete instead of conceding. Does it matter if the game terminates the match, or the player terminates the process? Same result, and it can't be stopped.
no i still think you're totally wrong^^
concede is awesome it improved the game for me
sooo.. if someone rage quits, it just counts them as a concede vote? Ok, I can see that.
But it gives the message that so and so conceded, so that was the source of my confusion.
@Creep666 no time was saved for me, my remaining teamate did not vote to concede, so I was forced to either play it out, or leave.
I voted concede, and nothing happened, so I left.
I think there's a timer, I could be wrong, but I think if you concede, and then quit, it counts as a quit if your other teammates don't concede in a certain amount of time too. If they stay and fight for a leangth of time after you concede, you get a quit on your record. Hopefully a Dev will pop on and explain it in detail, cause it's really unclear.
I still don't get it how concede works. Must be a 100% vote or a 50% vote? When someone clicks on concede, i thought it will ask me with a y or n dialog box. But no..It just says User X asked to concede. Very easy to miss the white small text at the top of the screen.
Concede is good in my book, but it's implementation leaves a lot to desire. Overall, the patch feels rushed and poorly coded.
The concede thing doesn't solve the underlying problem... I'm not playing for some stat that says how many games I've won, I don't care, I just want to play a game of Demigod online rather than stomping the woeful AI all the time.
All it does is makes it less likely that people stay in if their team gets off on the wrong foot. If my team is losing, they can now concede and cut short the fight. If the enemy team is losing, they can do the same. This doesn't help me play to play a full game of Demigod. It just makes it harder to get a game start where both sides are in it for the long haul.
After all the goal is to play and have fun, rather than to give the enemy a reason to ragequit in some new, exciting way.
Yes I think a clear defenition by the developers would be nice.
i don't know how many votes you need for team concede either ( but i think all must concede)
i just know that i had two time-saving wins today because the opposing team conceded...
Basically now if everyone quits (or clicks concede, which keeps them in the game btw until every clicks it) you get the win instead of having to play an a.i for 20 mins
Has anyone ever played Hearts in the old Microsoft Gaming Zone. It was a lot of fun. Then they added a ranking ability where you had a score associated to you. The more games you won the higher your score would go up. Well that totally ruined the game. I went in there and everyone was playing 'speed hearts'. Whats that? you play one hand, the one who gets hit with the queen MUST forfiet. and the the other 3 players get a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a gain in point because they didnt lose. They do that a thousand times, play meanless games to inflate their imaginary stats (that no one in the true world cares about).
So they basically ruined the game. No one wanted to play the game the regular way. They made the real meaning of the score totally meaningless.
Imagine a game of pro baseball, any team that scores first automatically wins the game, then both teams leave. Holy crow. Can you imagnie how lame the world would be?!?
What's the point? well, most people who play online are childish losers who cant take any adversity, they dont FIGHT to win, if someone dies they GIVEUP like a little baby.
The game designers shouldnt do a concede within a certain time limit. Disable it for the first 15minutes to half hour. So a real game can play out..before people giveup.
Its a shame that the people that rage quit give up so easily. I have a had a few games where I died early on and I didnt quit and we did win. The whole point of dying in the game is to learn from your mistakes. You wont learn or ever get better if you quit after the first death. The team concede should be nice in the fact that if you only have AI left on the other team, the game is won just like that, because no one wants to the play the AI.
I would say a fair team concede would be if your team gets stomped and when I say stomped I mean your team is so far behind you cant even kill the other team nor gain any flags so its pointless to even go farther. These games are very rare (1 in 20?) but when it happens you know you got rolled and its fine to throw in the towel. Since the other team (of premades) is that good I am sure they are looking for another match asap as well.
