Hello there.
I just bought Sword of the Stars: Argos Shipyard through Impulse. I have the original + Born of Blood as boxed versions and i have A Murder of Crows as a Gamers Gate D/L. Problem being the Impulse install claims i don't have Sword of the Stars....but i do.
Any work around possible?
Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply Dash.
I think I am in the same boat. I have SotS boxed retail along with Gamers Gate expansions (BoB and AMoC). I purchased ANY on Impulse and it installed after I pointed it to my install directory on the Hard Drive, but the game won't launch. When I click on the icon it brings up a small splash screen, pauses, then the desktop blinks, and that is it. The game doesn't launch and it shows nothing in the task bar. There are no errors displayed on the screen. There is an error in the impulse error log when I open it that says (among other things) "did not have the expected revision."
I sent a help request to support@stardock.com yesterday, but I did not get a response today. I guess I am not going to be able to get any space opera action in this weekend. Heck even my old SotS install doesn't work anymore.

I am having the same issue. I just purchased ANY of of Implulse, and I have the Ultimate version that I got from Gogamer. I just emailed support@stardock.com so I can hope!

I have a similar problem. I bought the Original Sword of the Stars, then BoB, then AMOC as boxed games. Installed fine. Now that ANY is out, I bought it from Impulse in June 2009 since that is now my preferred download source.
It downloaded OK, although it went to the C:\ root since I forgot to tell it where the original install was. But no problem, I just copied the files into the correct directory, put in my email and serial when it asked me and everything was just fine until a couple of days ago (Feb 2010).
I discovered that there was a patch taking it from v171 to v172, with some very important bug fixes. Problem is, Impulse won't update the install. I went into the blue corner box and told it the correct path, and it duly downloaded some files. They were the 171 files not the 172 ones! Worse still, having done this it now asks for the CD before playing? What CD? ANY was a download, not a CD. Does it want the AMOC, BoB or original CD?
No matter what I do, Impulse will not download the 172 version. Please help...
