Name of Demigod: Xolotl or The Guardian
Type of Demigod: Assassin
General description: I had an idea for an Egyptian assasin demigod.. one with a dog head; black skin, broad shoulders, 2nd tallest demigod(but not wide like the rook), and very muscular. He would weild a very long spear. There would be a chain that is attached to the wrist of the demigod.. to the end of the spear ( to pull enemys back to him).
His base range would be the same as regulus, he would be average speed, and somewhat low auto attack dmg, but fastest attack speed.The guardian is intended to be played by frontloading as much +dmg as you can to increase Throw's damage mulitplyer, while staying alive with life leach, and outreaching regulus's farthest range, yet being naturally slower.
Abilities:
1st<>Throw- Does 4x melee damage and counts as physical dmg, can be reduced by armor. Final rank of throw steals 10% of enemys mana and returns it to you. (might recieve benefits of life steal)
2nd<>(passive)- Adds life steal and +health per second
3rd<>(passive)- Adds physical dmg to auto attack, and rank 3 makes throw ignore amor
4th<> Grapple (lvl5)- ability that brings enemys back to you. ( its own ability now , not tied with throw )
5th<> Sand Wall - Cast a sheild on yourself or others that reflects dmg back on the attacker (including abilities, auto dmg, and mines)
6th<> passive ability- adds to melee and throw range
7th<>Scarabs- Infests an area with scarabs untill a demigod enters the area(like mines). When scarabs are removed via debuff or their time runs out, Xolotl (Guardian) receives (not determined yet)% of the dmg that was done in health.
8th<>Summon- summon an ally to you that is over 50% health, can be attained at lvl 7.
(wanted to add invisability, but i doubt the engine supports that, would make it so he had +movement speed and invis breaks on dmg taken, or done to demigod.)
What are your thoughts?
That's a very good idea! I only don't like his size, he should be more something like the oak of size.I !

not a bad idea at all but the size should be smaller like LRokai said.
I just want him to look evil like the tomb guys in diablo2, the ones to raise dead and shoot black stuff around. What do you think of the abilities?
Having some time to think over the abilities, im not sure if the summon would be all that useful, and everyone would just go Throw spec.. ill think of something else.
Well its not a bad idea but ye u may be right people would use just the throw. would it not be cool to have a demigod that could dupicate himself
Yah it would have to be a real clone with half health or half wpn dmg, a paper clone that dies with 1 dmg would be worthless
Changed Summon to scarabs, a long duration DoT, its dmg is kinda high to incorperate the +health items players will have since it lasts 2 minutes.
Totally fan of the grapple. Sounds good, lets pop the new dgs up !
Hell yah, new dg's for the win.. if this dg made it into the game.. i would never play another demigod (=. What do you think of summon, invis, grapple? Would they work with this engine, and is scarab too high of dmg?
At lvl 15 a demigod will have at least +40 hp/sec, i thought the dmg would be fine, and would stop HoL.
Had a thought, just for fun to make the scarab ability a castable critter. Cast him like a minion and he has a movement speed of 12 and 1k hp, you run him into a demigod.. would be fun to see ppl running away from him (=.
Lol ye it would and the summon thing is fine but i think he'd be better off staying as a assasin class rather than summon like a general
A spammable ability that counts as physical damage, is an automatic 4x crit, stuns, drains mana, later ignores armor, probably works alongside duelists/slayer's/ashkander because it's 'phsyical damage, a move that brings them back to you, so they can't run, a passive damage upper, a passive range upper, a bramble shield, and a passive lifesteal?
I. Um. Think that might be a bit over the top.
Percentages and cooldowns are all up for grabs, so if throw had a 15-20 second cooldown, it wouldnt be so bad. There isnt a bramble sheild, if it didnt ignore armor.. then it would do less then 800 dmg and wouldnt be much of an ability. If the percentages and cooldowns were tweaked right, this demigod would be balanced and still have all these abilities.. look at the bigger picture.
The stun is a little over the top i agree, but it needs to atleast be .5 sec stun, i just wasnt sure what to do with all the other ranks. If i removed teh longer stun, there would be no point in getting the other ranks.

Oh, my bad, I saw "Damage Shield" and my mind popped to a Bramble-a-like, not a "damage reflection" shield.
I do like the base concept of the god though, and think the egyptian element is a classic thing to be represented in a game based on mythology.
Yah i thought the damage reflection would be cool since it hasent been done yet, and its castable on other demigods. Would be funny to see a 1000 hp demigod die to one with 500 just bc he didnt realise it was up.

Visually I'd make him a head taller then Oak, no higher.
If you want him to be a long range melee, I'd make it 2/3rds of Regulu's range (just a tad shorter, but not melee)
1. I like it, have the stun be +.5 seconds for each rank up to 2.
2. Looks good, I'd lower the last rank a bit though.
3. looks fine. Don't get the last rank's relevance though.
4. Grapple looks interesting. Wonder if it'd be possible to code. I'd make the range just a few paces longer then your melee range.
5. Love it, dont change it. I'd make it an instacast.
6. Dunno if he'd need this one. It's possible that you could just throw it out. Let GPG think about that one.
7. Great idea, needs to be brain stormed for ballance though. Some ideas, have the HP regen only happen at the end of the effect, as the scarabs return to you. After more thinking I think the damage is about right. 10hp a second is not that much, even spread out over 2 minutes. But it'd be a great way to get enemy groups to stop camping an area. It still seems a bit unballanced though... Maybe if it had a cap to the amount of damage it can do in total... I'm thinking... It can do, in total, as much damage as your max HP at Rank 1, and 50% more for each rank.
8. Summon/Warp. 3 Ranks, 1 Summon healthy ally. 2nd short range warp (like the capes that allow you to warp.) 3rd Teleport to a building. 45 sec cool down.
All in all looks like a lot of fun to play with. Also, Anubis Needs more Anubis.
Thanks for the breakdown of the skills, i agree with all the points you made. Though im not sure why everyone is against his height. Three things i want him to keep are the 4x melee based dmg throw, grapple, and longer melee range then any other demigod.
Id be willing to rebalance all of his skills.. if he could attack while moving backwars(away from the enemy) though.
After thinking about it, I'd say his Grapple would have to be a Snare effect. Maybe 20%, 40%, 60% for 5 seconds.
And abourt his hieght, we're being realistic for one thing, and on the other hand, "A Head taller then Oak" is pretty damn tall, and doable. Go with it!
I don't think attacking backward would be a good idea... too game breakingly powerful. Way too easy to abuse.

I thought the same thing when i was comming up with the idea (grapple needing to be snare), yet ... its more about a new fancy .. fun skill then balance. It could be something like... demigod does X% less damage for X seconds after grapple is used, or Anubis is slowed when using grapple for x seconds. Anything to keep grapple as a skill.
Which demigod is the 2nd tallest is it oak? I still dont understand the logic of why anubis cannot be shorter then rook but taller then the rest .. , he could be less of a human and more of a monster guardian ( rook is less of a stone guardian and more of a magic tower )
An idea without values isnt gamebreaking because he doesnt do any defined amount of damage. Talking about attacking while running away of course.
Rook would be more of asian history, and UB middle eastern/ egyptian? Demigod isnt Greek only history and shouldnt be limited to it.
Think of the implacations of having a character be able to attack while on the run. As it is now, your choices are to stay and fight, or turn to run, tring to get away to the safety of your towers. If you could attack while running, why would you EVER stay to fight? You'd constantly be trying to pull them into your towers. And it'd be even worse of an exploit if you make him a ranged character... I hope you see now why it's brokenand not a good idea. =3
If the demigod did 50% less dmg then others.. he wouldnt be broken, and attacking while running away is only good if your running away. If your low health.. your low health, you can still die.
Im not saying he should have it, just throwing ideas out there. This is an idea section, not a list whats already there section.
The rook does dmg while running away btw
yea rook does dmg as hes running cause of the towers not as much damage though, so u could make your guy do not as much damage as he would if he were face 2 face with the with the other guy. like maybe split his damage in half or somthin
