Let me start off by saying I havent had any real connections issues. My port are forwarded ect. Also I dont have trouble playing the game online, no ingame lag (caused by me at least).
BUT when I join a custom game. SOMETIMES, but not all the time, my ping will be up to 2k for about 1-4 seconds. Then it goes down to what it normally. No issues in game.
This is irritating because some people will kick me right away. I usualy try to explain to people that it will come down in a second, and It wont be an issue in game... But sometimes they just kick.
I am not sure why it is spiking. It MAY be happening more when there are 5-9 people already in the lobby, but I have yet to take the time to positivly verify that. I think it could be better to have it say "connecting" or something to that effect untill a person connects to everyone, rather than show ping right away.
This started happening to me just recently too, very few problems before, and never lag in-game caused by me. It doesn't seem to be related to the amount of people, it sometimes happens in lobbies with one person. It makes it very hard to get a game if it decides to spike a lot when I join.
this happens to me aswell, i get pings around 500ms when i first join, then it settles down to 60-100ms
Same, it seems to happen to a lot of people. Post whoever's kicking you in the hall of shame
I had a time I got kicked first 3 second I joined, even though I saw good ping from others.
Ping gets a while to settle and I feel sorry for you. People are just impatient.
To be honest, I just keep joining the game and spamming in the chat. DG doesnt have a ban option, only a kick, so thye cant keep you out.
I tend to be hard heaeded, and I also join games that say <100ping and whatnot, just to yell at those people... Ok not yell, but I try to explain thaat the game is setup for 350ping, so anyhting under that is moot.
My ping spikes to 2000 alot when I enter a lobby.
I think it happens to everyone. I usually just give someone about 10 seconds for their ping to drop, then I'll kick if its still high.
Its likey jsu the connecting to 5+ people at once on a game thats pretty upload heavy. makes sense why it spikes (hell mine does it all the time in DG; but on random p2p clients i dont really watch lantecy to see what happens).
If everyone just waits about 10secs; all is good
