Where do you report people going aganist the terms of use "With screenshots? Cheating/Language/Etc.
General concensus is you can't cheat because it'll cause desynchs. I'm not so sure about that, but I'm pretty sure no one has come up with a way to circumvent this yet, but it'll (probably) come IMO. By that time my hope is that we'll have replays you can submit to prove your case.
As for language and stuff, good question.
I was more looking for the language. I haven't run into a cheater either, but I figured it would make it easier for people to understand what I am looking for.
"reports to the same place"
What kind of a pansy reports people for bad language in a game?
Bad language in online games is more common than the common flu. You seriously going to report everybody you see using it?
Read the rules. I don't wish to play with kids that mouth off, because they think they can say what they want because they are online. What do you mean by pansy? I'm here to play a game not listen to children using words they just learned in school. As for your question I'll report anyone who is using foul language for no other reason than to use it to attempt to insult others. Swearing because of frustration is one thing, but insulting people that haven't done anything I don't see to be acceptable. Everyone swears, but that doesn't mean everyone has to listen to it. If ya don't like to rules... petition.
If you think I'm out of bounds here is the rule.
From terms of use
2. You may NOT abuse, harass, threaten or otherwise alienate another player
Nobody over the age of 14 wants to play with people who cuss for the novelty of it. But the real problem is when they are insulting people.
Kids dont realize that it's a lot different when you say "F**k!" after dying three times to creeps than it is to say "You're a stupid f****t f**k!" after dying three times to a player.
What's wrong with the good old ignoring strategy? I find it weird that someone wants to waste their time reporting kids with potty mouths. It's not like they are going to run out. You literally waste your time. Play the game, ignore the kids.
Why would you think it would take time? Printscreen then e-mail screen to e-mail which is most likely the place you submit it to. It's not the "potty mouths" that's the problem the problem is the fact they insult people and think there is nothing that can be done to them. Simply it ruins the atomsphere for the adult gamers to deal with these "internet tough guys". I came to play with fairly mature people since it is a 18+ game "or was it 16". I could ignore them, but if everybody just ignores them nothing is being done. It won't take alot of time to report them and stardock can choose what to do. I don't see it as a waste of time since it would take less than 3 minutes to do. I don't want you thinking I plan to report everybody just for swearing that is crazy. I only plan to report those who take it over the line. I don't see any problem with this. Izzo can you offer any reason not to report them other than it would be a waste of my time. I like playing demigod alot, but I don't like having to deal with these kids that don't follow the rules.
As bigAbboTT said above it is only when they step over the line and insult people is there a reason to report them.
Which brings up an interesting question. How can you prove maphacks?
I concur with this motion! I personally find trolling and other sorts of online abuse crossing the line. There is no way people could get away with it in person, and it certainly isn't something I want in my gaming. Either you ignore it, or do what you can about it which I support. Yes, you won't get everyone....it never works that way....as always these policies are in place as a detterant and for the extreme offenders.
'
Just ignore and carry on with your life.
Why does an insult from a kid on the internet even bother you? You can't say that it doesn't either, after all, you are taking the time to report said kid.
Uh. Because humans have feelings? I know-- that's a strange concept on the internet.
To clarify: I seriously doubt the OP is losing sleep over somebody calling him a name online. It's a matter of fostering a community that has standards which exceed those of the various dumping grounds of the internet.
For starters : Why does an insult from anyone ever bother you?
Secondly: It's not even necessarily a "kid"
Third: I want to play my games to relax, enjoy a community, or for some competition and maybe even some constructive tips on how to play if I can't seem to pull off a win.
Lastly: I know I have been bothered by insults and such online before, generally it means I was having a bad day, or that the person was being particularly mean and nasty towards even his 'teamates'....while I know some people feel that doing things 'online' means that it's "not real"...It can be just as real as texting your gal, or talking to someone on the phone, and of course it can be insulting....Disrespecting people in general does not promote a good atmosphere, it's often someone who is disatisfied with things in thier own life or who gets a hard on from stealing the pleasure or enjoyment of others, even those whom like to make other people angry because they're 'too stupid to realize the joke' or 'oblivious to the fact that they're being manipulated'.
It's easy to manipulate people, it's harder to communicate with them. (Just makes me think of the Dark/Light side of the force)
Glad people understand my point here. Anyway since we got off topic anybody know where you can report these incidents?
I would shoot an email to support@stardock.com
Here is the answer to my question. Stadock replied.
For issues as you're describing you can use the forum reporting tool or submit complaints to gripeline@stardock.com
For anybody that wishes to know.
I just ignore the cussing, and most the name calling, but a few times there have been players that have just started spamming racial insults/obsenities using the "All" chat to people they are losing to. I'm talking about things even Howard Stern would blush after reading; those types need reporting.
It's not about language, it's about intent.
"The greatest evil is the indifference of good men/women."
Why ignore them if they could get banned from the game and learn a $40 dollar lesson? I support insult spam bot and "Early Quitters"(P.C. Term for Ragers) banning.
I'm hudsonave, and I approve this message
This is so true...
It's good to see mature people on this forum that understand what I am saying.
I think you have deep seated emotional issues if you take the 'intent' of people over teh internets seriously. I think you need to see someone about it.
hehe... gripeline... how about wahhhhhh@stardock.com. Seriously though, that's some good info. Thanks for for sharing. I try not to take things too seriously (its a game, I might be playing against a 10 year old, etc), but hey, you should be able to voice your concerns and I do understand. The simple ability to squelch players would be pretty helpful to resolve this. Any chance we could get something like that in game?
I really don't mind cursing, but I have gotten death threats against both me and my family during some Demigod online games. After which the offending player went into more details about how to implement those threats during the latter half of the game when their side began to lose.
Is it really just whining to complain about those? I don't think so. Besides, considering the current athmosphere with the youth violence in the US the police might be happy to find people who write gun threats online.
Also, forgive my clunky English. I am a foreigner.
