I finally bought O.D. Plus this weekend, and one of the main features i was purchasing it for doesn't work--system tray icons.
If i tell a regular dock to show them, they do not, and if i tell a tabbed dock to have a system tray tab it is completely empty.
Please help!
I take it we're talking about Object Dock Plus.
If you had the free version of Object Dock installed before the paid version, the free version needs to be uninstalled before installing the paid version. If you didn't do that, save and backup any themes and iicon images you have, uninstall the paid version, uninstall the free version (if it still shows), reboot, reinstall the paid version.
Which windows version are you running - XP 32bit, XP 64bit, Vista 32bit, Vista 64bit, Windows 7 beta
If you're running XP, are you logging in as a limited user or an administrative user
i hav the prob of System Tray icons missing......... so plz help me...............

I notice i have two of everything now, two help files in windows system32 folder....?? pls help someone...katsmeo@gmail.com subject HELP Thank you i be eternally grateful
What OS are you running? I know for fact that systray and start programs docklet DO NOT WORK in Vista x64 OS's. I've been following threads and forums since early spring on this matter.
I would have figured that by now .. they would have worked their issues out.
Personally, I don't know why there wasn't more focus on Vista both x86 and x64 systems. Windows 7 or whatever they're going to call it in the end is just around the corner. And all that is, is Vista with out the bugs!
I am running vista 64 bit, and also lost my start button...but even more so, it wigged out my graphics card and the graphics are messed up in various wierd places, like the control panel that opens automatically on start up. Is there any fix? I have been a faithful member of stardock since way back when...would hate for it to end like this.
~~MMMMary
Ok, I was able to fix the problem by simply uninstalling. But then, that also means I will not be able to use Object Dock or Impulse. I downloaded the latest version and am going to try reinstalling to see if it makes any difference. Cross your fingers! It would be a shame to end my long term relationship and financial commitment with what should be a wonderful product simply because I have Vista 64 bit.
So far so good. Everything is reinstalled and for now, appears to be functioning correctly. Odd, because I used the same install links and settings. Oh well, maybe just a fluke.
Last update: Found the main problem. Impulse will note that your system is not running at it's peak due to a low video card. Well, I know I have an advanced card and prompted impulse to revise it. Which it did, and that is when the problems begin. Uninstalling it, brings everything back. Reinstalled it once again and all is fine....the key is to never ask Impulse to review your windows rating experience if you use Vista.
