I went to the main site and I must admit it's not like Stardock where you know pretty much where the developpement is at.
Anybody have any idea when we can expect something about Diablo3?
Even if the game only comes out in 2034 I would just like to have an idea.
Thanks
On the official site, you won't find -too- much information and the official forums is a trollfest of miscommunication and fail. Updates comes in waves, and I think that we can be fairly certain that the next wave of information will come at Blizzcon, August 21-22.
Hopefully, they'll unveil the next class.
The best way to stay updated is to hang around a secondary forum, such as diablofans.com (which I occasionally frequent) that track posts by Bashiok (Official Blizzard Rep.) from the official forums and where every seperate tidbit of new information is torn apart and analyzed by sociopathic nerdragers and fanboys.
I wouldn't get your hopes up for even 2010 release of Diablo 3, though. They're still only "hoping" to get the first chapter of SC2 out the door by the end of '09.
That's good to know. At least I know what to expect.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
If you lose, I'm making you eat one of your precious cuddly bears.
Blizzard has been doing the "no official release date" dance for years. They do it with game releases, bug fixes, patches, etc.
From a dev perspective I understand this policy. In reality development rarely goes exactly as expected. Add to this how immature game communities can get with "broken promises" and I understand why some companies have this policy. Then again, why not satisfy your mature customers and ignore the flamers?
From a customer perspective I like to be aware of the game plan, the open policy. I like knowing why development is going slower then expected or why a patch missed it's date. I think in order for this policy to work the company has to be very good and keeping it's clients involved at all times. Not an easy task but I think Stardock does a great job at this.
Blizz won me as a fan by the quality of it's games (warcraft 1 and 3, diablo 2, and Starcraft 1). I would not play any Blizzard games if not for their great game quality.
Stardock won me as a fan by their policies (stances on DRM, support, etc). I would purchase Stardock games even if they were not great, just because I like their policies.
Funny now that works.
QFT!
I bought Demigod and I can't play Multi-player at all but did not give it back for a refund just for this reason.
Sammual
late 2010 or summer 2011 are my best guesses. Diablo 1 and 2 both came out in summer.
Specificly, Bertha.
If I lose, I'll be too busy revelling in the awesomeness that is Diablo 3 to have time to cuddle with Bertha.
You will, mostly because you wouldn't know that's what you're eating.
You said mostly- meaning there is something else he will be thinking, or not know...?
