And you farmed 10 kills off the leaver's AI hero.
Don't say gg.
Don't even think about it.
It was not a gg.
It was for the farmer
I will continue to say GG regardless of the match's length, 'fairness' or anything, because it's a show of good sportsmanship and common decency, much like shaking hands after a game.
No matter how ragey you are, those two simple letters can make a lot of things smoothed over.
If the game was NOT a good game because of leavers or noobs, it's an insult. It sure doesn't feel like a gg to the people who got screwed.
"Good sirs, I must address you on this issue of a lost comrade! The pain in my heart is equivalent to the burning decay of smothered ember-remains of an arson. Perhaps the outcome of this match would have been victory in your favor had we had meet under different circumstances; tested our respective mettle on a more level playing field. For all of this, my triumph feels empty and my compassion goes out to you, friends. We have defeated your once-mighty citidel. Thus, the match shall end presently. Adieu."
Yeah. I'm sticking with GG.
You could just not say anything. Or perhaps "Sorry." That's what I say when I beat people who had leavers or feeders.
Last night I never got chance to say GG.
Just as my citadel was about to get pounded, my screen froze. I could hear what was going on, but no response from anything else. After a couple of minutes it went to the end screen which said I had lost. At that point it froze again and I had to ctl-alt-del to get out...
So, who ever you were, GG...
I usually end up discussing how the match could have been better had someone not left... I ramble.
I do too. A disappointing feature is you can't tell once someone has left and you're now just talking to yourself.
i heard that AI players dont have ping in the player listing. the source of this information was not my mother. my mother is a teamfortress2 addict and wants nothing to do with rts.
If a player other than you has no ping, then yes, it's an AI. I always check the scoreboard at the beginning of a game to see if anyone's an AI.
I agree with the OP that saying gg to a team who had a ragequitter or terrible player who fed 24/7 is an insult. IT was NOT a gg. Did you forget what 'gg' stands for? GOOD GAME. Having a ragequitter is not a good game! You don't need to say anything but if you just have to, say "sorry about the quitter" or something.
Don't say some shit about sportsmanship. Let's say that you were playing some team sports game and the referee was extremely and blatantly biased and the crowd threw shit at you , would you shake the other team's hand after it was done. I for one would not.
That's a nafty comparison, considering that both players are personally complementing one another whilst shaking hands, which does require less of an ego and good sportsmanship indeed.
Entering a single letter twice to your opponent however doesn't really have the same kind of impact, especially after a scenario like the one mentioned in OP.
sensitive i see. most of the time there is no insult meant, just suck it up and ignore your oppenents respectful "gg's" and move on.
Someone sounds bitter, lol
I admit it.
The fact that this is a horrible example aside... You really wouldn't? What does the other team have to do with the ref's bad calls / crowd's bad attitude? That's just rude.
It does when the vast majority of quiters, flamers and griefers refuse to type those two letters at the end of a game unless they won, and even then they type 'GG nUBZ!1!'. I'll continue to type 'GG' at the end of a game.
If you think it's a GG that enemy had a ragequitter and you farmed ai for 0/20, I would like to know what kinda game is a BG for you guys. Let me guess: it would have been BG if the ragequitter had been on your team ?
Demigod noobs just don't what GG means. GG has no meaning for most players in Demigod. In reality GG is a game that was fun(and challenging) for everyone.
I always say 'Sorry man, you did your best' or somethign like that. And when someone leaves I offer to quit and rematch.
'gg' has long since ceased to mean precisely 'good game'.
Win with grace, lose with dignity. Win or lose, saying gg is graceful and dignified.
Uh, what? Has "lol" also ceased to mean "laugh out loud" or at the most "that was funny"?
I'm guessing what he means is that GG has moved past it's literal acronym - it now is a digital representitive of good sportsman ship. I both agree and disagree - I've seen GG thrown at the losing side with such classic examples as 'GG F**ktards'. I use GG, meaning Good Game, because I enjoy playing with other people, even if I lose. If I'm farmed over and over because of a team mate's inexperience or Rage Quit, I'll still say 'GG' because I still had fun - I'll have played the game to the best of my ability and even if I knew I was going to lose, I'd make the other side work for it. Some people only have fun when they win - these are the people who don't understand 'GG'.
OP your a bad sport and a poor loser since you felt the need to come and cry on the forums over people saying gg after you lost
