I have a top of the line computer, and at worst, above average internet. As I try to play online I seem to be running into regular difficulty connecting to other players, or visa versa. most of the time in a 2v2 group at least one other person seems to have trouble connecting to me, and at least 9/10 or more games break up before they begin. rarely I can connect to a game and have all players there and playing. If I'm showing a connection to others, but they can't connect to me (one of them, not all of them) is that still my problem or theirs? any tips on getting better connections? I'm new to the game and loved DotA so I'd love to get into a game a little more often...
Hi, can you show the speedtest results here?
http://www.speedtest.net
and what modem/router you are using?
When people can not connect to you then it is possibly an port forwarding problem. Make sure you opened the right ports for UDP and no firewall is blocking.
I believe I opened the right ports. forgive me for being a bit of an amature with routers, but in my settings it is asking for an IP as well as what ports I want to open.... 192.168.1.[?] with the question being the only blank spot... any Idea what I should put there for demigod?
Im having very similar issues and im a pc retard when it comes to forwarding ports and all that stuff. If someone could give me a step by step "guide" on how to open the right ports and anything else that may be screwing my online experience i would be grateful
