I'm not much into third-person action games that often seem more at home on consoles than on PCs, but I've got to admit that this game looks like a blast:
Prototype
Initially, the mention that NYC gets infected with zombies caught my attention. Then I learned that the game has a sort of open sandbox mode of play - that really caught my attention because I love free roaming games. Finally, this preview makes it sound like a must-have:

I hope they release a demo at some point because I am still leary about purchasing a $50 game like this as its gameplay is so radically different from what I usually like to play (slow strategy games). Still...the game has me intrigued.
BTW: Here's a gameplay vid which makes the game look like a lot of fun.
I remember when Sierra made games that excited me, like Quest for Glory and Police Quest, or interesting games like waterworks and incredible machine.
I don't know what to say about prototype. I don't see anything that particularly catches my eye. It looks like a solid game, just it doesn't have anything that would raise it to the list of things I plan to purchase.
Yea can't say that I have any games on my watch list anymore. Last FPS I played online that was fun for me was FEAR and I didn't bother with the xpacs or various reiterations of it. TF2 was ok but I miss the old ET RTCW games I used to play online. No unlocks just know your map and upgrade as you play each match.
It's not worth my bothering to enter a dob to see... Score one for the nanny state.
Yeah, I'm still awaiting the first game of 2009 to really wows me. Empire: TW is the only noteworthy new game so far, but its initial release was so beset by bugs that it lost points in my book. And, frankly, once you get past the musketry and naval battles, it just becomes another TW iteration.
I'm still looking for a fresh and engaging new title. I'm not at all sure Prototype will be it (not to offend anyone, but I've always found third person action titles to be dumbed down games), but it does seem relatively original and certainly has the potential to be fun and engaging.
