With the recent release of Killzone2 I decided to make a mod about it, featuring the ISA and the Helghast. The story is no problem to make since the planet Vekta and Helghan are both located on the same system (which is exactly how Sins works). For those who know the game and those who don't, I have a question:
With my 2D experience art, I created 2 logos of the 2 factions, and the first thing I'm going to do in the mod is to implement those logos. Question is: how? I have exactly all the means to do so but don't know how do I add more logos to the game options. If anyone can help me I'll really appreciate it.

If you want to add more logos you have to convert the PlayerTheme[...].windows and the PlayerThemesDef into txt, I think in these files are the positions for logos.
But, if you want to replace an existing logo, that is much more easier. Just make a copy of RaceLogos.tga (it's in the Textures folder) and open it with photoshop or with gimp.
As you said you're familiar with 2D, so just delete an existing one, and draw your new logo. You can play with fading (as the originals are also fading from dark trough bright to dark.)
As you can see, there is an alpha channel. You have to make the alpha for your logo and place it properly. The funny thing is that there are other 3 sizes for the logos, you have to raplace them, too.
If you're ready with the logos, just make a new mod for it or place it in an existing mod, (in Textures folder) and when you apply the mod, your new logo will be in the game.

EDIT: Is there any way for the Logo to be saved with it's current colours? I don't wish my logo to be one-coloured, but with all of its colours. Any chance of that?
Masteru, I have played around with the colours in the player logos, the colours show up in the LARGE logo spots only, and there are no small logos that I could see in the file, so I suspect that it uses the alpha channel for the small logos

I think you can't do multi-coloured theme logos, but I'm not 100% sure.
The 4 different sized logos in alpha channel are for the color only. The large size has rgb, it provides the fading for the large logo... (for smaller logos don't needed... you wouldn't even notice the fading)
neterw I put colour spots in one of the logos and the colour showed up in the player window at the bottom of the game screen, the large logo during colonization of a planet, and in the shield on the player setup screen only.
I could not get the coloured logos to show anywhere else

but! i tried to make colored logos, and it's possible, I never tried before, I tought it's impossible.
for the large logo is simply... just draw the colored logo in good place... for the smaller logos search the right place (by making the alpha channel visible, but still the rgb is active for working) and you can draw the smaller logo ther... no matter what color you choose in the game... it will always multicolored as you made it in photoshop
btw, only I have trouble with the forum? there were hours when I can't open the forum, and sometimes it just stops durring a loading... and a few times it loaded the pinned post... but nothing else...
I also was unable to access the modding area between 10 & 12 hours ago
thanks for the reminder about the alpha channel visibility, after I altered EACH of the sizes the colours show up in all sizes
What do you mean? In each RGB channel I *paste* the logo and place it in the right position, but the logo will lose colour and adapt to the layers. In the Alpha channel it turns grayscale while in the others - Red, Green and blue. Also, it seems that the Alpha channel is not directly linked to the actual layers, and the RGB layers *are* linked. I think if you change one, you change all, so how can I work individually on each one?

masteru I just clicked on the channel that I was working on then did the alterations, then clicked on the next channel worked on it then clicked the next channel & worked on it and yes it does give colour on all sizes as a NEGATIVE effect( i was painting black in the channels and they showed up as the channel colour on the rgb layer)
Hmm, well whatever I do the logo just appears as one coloured and not multi-coloured. Maybe it's a problem with the logo I guess. If you could post screenshots and I will post screenshots we could solve this out? You see I made the logo and I pasted it in the channel, but it doesn't appear (only the outline of it). I can draw in the channel but that won't help because it won't look like the already made logo.
did you make the logo in rgb and in alpha channel, too???
and you have to make the the medium and the small logo in apha channel (at least... I never met the smallest /4th size/ logo in the game)!
if you wish a multi-colored logo, then you need to draw the colored logo in alpha channel... that's for the colors (as I said before... the rgb of the RaceLogo is for fading)
neterw the mods I made were in each COLOUR channel only and they act as a NEGATIVE mask
