Ive never had problems playing Demigod up until these recent patches. I can get into lobbies alot faster now but once the game starts I rarely stay in it for more than a few minutes before I get the 30 second dissconnect thing and I get kicked from the game. Why does this happen and is there anyway to fix it?
I'm getting the same thing happen to me.
So far from what I can tell, it doesn't appear to be my router. Demigod appears to freeze or glitch some odd way, then I get 30 sec timout and get booted. And I look at the Networking tab in my Task manager and it just dies. And I take a look at my router, it appears to be running perfectly fine.
Note that I am using a wireless network adapter on my PC.
Also when this happens, I try close demigod and it stops responding, forcing me to end the process via Processes in Task Manager.
Also when this happens Anything thats connected to the internet gets disconnected. It would really be nice if someone from stardock would actually reply in the technical support forum, Let us know that your working on this problem or something. I cant even play online anymore because of this.
Exactly, I've been perfectly fine up until the last patch. Now I too cannot play a full length multiplayer game online at all anymore x.x
We're working on the problem. To help you can send us an email at support@stardock.com with your ImpulseReactor.log file attached(try to join a multiplayer game, and if/when it fails, close the program and attach the updated file). The file can be found in the following directory: (My)Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod
Hmm, finally had time to troubleshoot it a little more.
Connected my PC directly to the router via ethernet cord, and I was able to play a full game with little problems. So I guess it's not an issue with the router..?
I then disconnected the ethernet cord, and re-enabled the wireless adapter, this time being like literally 2-3 feet away from the router thinking that maybe it was just a distance issue of some sort. To no avail, the problem still persisted. So I'm guessing it's a problem with my wireless adapter (which I just got brand new the other day) or the settings I have on my router in the wireless section.
My router is a Trendnet 108Mbps 802.11g Wireless Firewall Router, TEW-452BRP with the latest firmware.
My wireless adapter is a Airlink 101, 2.4 GHz, 802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter, AWLH3028/A with the latest drivers.
I have correctly setup a static IP, and forwarded UDP ports 6073, and 6112-6132, have disabled UPnP and have "Gaming Mode enabled"
I cannot rely on keeping the ethernet cable connected as a fix, because normally I have this computer a few rooms away from the router and have no ethernet cord long enough. Also I'd very much prefer to try get the wireless adapter working so I don't feel like I wasted my money on it x.x;
Any help is appreciated from either other players, or tech support
I already sent my ImpulseReactor.log file as per Dash's instructions, but didn't include all this information in the email.
I have the same problem. I can connect online fine. I can connect to games fine. Ping shows between 50-150 for all players (3on3 or 4on4) and then as soon as the game starts..I start getting lag spikes..every 10-15 seconds and eventaully I get dropped to the annoyance of everybody in the game who cus's me out.
It's really irritating. I recall before any of the patches I was able to get a multiplayer game in once in a while but since then (over the past 2-3 weeks) I have yet to be able to complete a single multiplayer game. It's a total waste of money to me to play the game single player so I am completely bummed out.
I tried opening all the ports listed in the other posts and I have tried the /nosound run and neither have helped in any whatsoever..I don't understand why it starts as soon as I enter the game. And I do not have any problems with anyother multplayer games..just demigod
Eh, my whole problem was fixed when I got a Linksys USB wireless adapter. Guess Airlink is just a bad brand
I am having the exact same problem. I can't tell if it's because of the increased stormy weather in my area or if is a result of the new patches. I have never been disconnected so much until either of these started which coicidentally happened to be at about the same time. It's almost as if, ever since the new patchs, it overloads the router or something and it just shuts off. I swear, it seems like everytime I play Demigod this happens and I have to reboot my router and internet connection and everything will be fine for awhile, then I hop on Demigod again, and it just happens again. I don't think it is a ISP problem, because I've never had this kind of problem before.
