I recieve a windows runtime error everytime to switch resolution, go from fullscreen to windowed, or when I try to bring up the irc by pressing shift+tab. When I first installed the game at launch, I didn't experience any of these problems. I tweaked the video-options to my liking and played. I've never had the irc running though. (I didn't know how to activate it )
I tried pinging the irc.stardock.... from my cmd and the ip was the correct one with 0 errors.
I run vista home premium 64bit
ati 4870
Intel DuoCore E7300 @2.66GHz
4gigs of ram.
I have the latest DirectX and Ati driver installed.
Is there no solution to this problem, or am I missing something so obvious that no one want to give me the answer to fix this?

What does the windows error say?
Uhm... I'm from Denmark, so I can't tell you what it would say with an EN/US version of the OS, but it's a standard windows error stating the program stopped working. Simple as that.
Loosely translated: Demigod Application stopped working. Demigod Application stopped working and will be shut down.
And then there is a single box for me to click which says 'shut down the application'...
Do you need additional info, or is there no solution to this problem at the moment? All I really want it the irc-thingie going, it's not like I change resolution daily.
I tried making a new user on my PC and ran Demigod and I could shift+tab all I wanted and the chat-box and connection box and all worked perfectly. It even gave me a little notification to turn it on in the lower left corner when I started then game.
I then copied my old user-settings to this new profile, but when I started playing Demigod, it gave me the same run-time error just like before. I've tried deleting my userdata from the documentfolder and making a fresh installation, but nothing has worked, so it could be some outside source affection the game and denying access to the irc. Also note that the error also occurs when I change resolution, scale the window in windowed mode or just change profile ingame. Everytime it fades to black or any that sort of matter is gives me the error and exits to windows.
Can anyone think of a solution other than starting from scrath from a new user, which it's really like to avoid, because it's a major hassle...
edit: The error is an Data Execution Prevention (DEP) error.
If you look at the running tasks in taskmanager on the old account and with a clean account, are there any extra ones under the old account?
Bwhahaha, do I feel stupid
So I'm having fraps running in the bagground, which was something I started running midway through my Demigod-carrear. I saw it running on my taskmanager and though 'It might be this little bugger' since I've had similar problems before but with other fps-trackers. I shut it down and ran demigod and even the little window in the bottom left corner showed up and told me to press shift+tab.

Hey, thanks for posting what the issue was caused by! You could have easily just gone ahead playing the game without posting here again. We always appreciate people posting fixes for issues no matter what the cause is.
