Autoattack Regulus build
Intro:
This build makes heavy use of BotS to solve it's mana problems completely. At the same time, you can push very effectively due to splash damage and range.
Skills:
Here is one combination of skills. Note, that these are not final.
For example - if you know you will be up against UB, you probably should get mines instead of mark. I personally prefer mark, because in conjunction with maim, it makes your enemy very slow and unable to use any skill without killing himself just at the right moment.
Your key skills are Angelic Fury and Sniper's Scope. Everything else comes secondary. If fast demigods are not an issue, feel free to drop Maim and get Mines+Mark or Mines+Snipe. You will have enough mana to spam both.
Lvl1: Angelic Fury I Lvl2: Sniper's Scope I Lvl3: Maim I Lvl4: Angelic Fury II Lvl5: Sniper's Scope II Lvl6: Mark Of The Betrayer I Lvl7: Angelic Fury III Lvl8: Sniper's Scope III Lvl9: Maim II Lvl10: Angelic Fury IV Lvl11: Mark of the Betrayer II Lvl12: Maim III Lvl13: Enhanced Attributes I Lvl14: Enhanced Attributes II Lvl15: Mark of the Betrayer III Lvl16: Enhanced Attributes III Lvl17: Enhanced Attributes IV Lvl18: Enhanced Attributes V Lvl19: Enhanced Attributes VI Lvl20: Whatever
An alternative:
Lvl1: Angelic Fury I Lvl2: Sniper's Scope I Lvl3: Mines I Lvl4: Angelic Fury II Lvl5: Sniper's Scope II Lvl6: Mark Of The Betrayer I Lvl7: Angelic Fury III Lvl8: Mines II Lvl9: Mines III Lvl10: Angelic Fury IV Lvl11: Mark of the Betrayer II Lvl12: Sniper's Scope III Lvl13: Enhanced Attributes I Lvl14: Enhanced Attributes II Lvl15: Mark of the Betrayer III Lvl16: Enhanced Attributes III Lvl17: Enhanced Attributes IV Lvl18: Enhanced Attributes V Lvl19: Enhanced Attributes VI Lvl20: Maim I
Another one:
Lvl1: Snipe ILvl2: Angelic Fury ILvl3: Sniper's Scope ILvl4: Explosive Mine ILvl5: Explosive Mine IILvl6: Mark Of The Betrayer ILvl7: Explosive Mine IIILvl8: Angelic Fury IILvl9: Angelic Fury IIILvl10: Mark Of The Betrayer IILvl11: Angelic Fury IVLvl12: Shrapnel Mine IVLvl13: Sniper's Scope IILvl14: Sniper's Scope IIILvl15: Mark Of The Betrayer IIILvl16-20: Enhanced Attributes I-V
Favor Item - Blade of the Serpent:
Why? Because you can spam two skills and be in Fury from lvl1. Every time your mana starts to get low, just use BotS and attack something. If you attack a wave of creeps then due to splash damage, it recharges your mana in two hits. Attacking a tower recharges your mana in 4-5 hits.
Basically you get to solve your mana problems from Lvl1. Regarding furious blade - Regulus needs to spend a lot of gold on mana items with it to sustain his fury, not to mention his skills.
Items:
Start: Gloves of Brutality (400), Teleport Scroll, Combat Heal PotionYour next batch should be: Wand Of Speed (1250), Gladiator's Gloves (750)After this, you should get: Narmoth's Ring (4000). Alternatively it is possible to stack armor+HP
The rest is simple:Wyrmskin Handguards (1750) Mageslayer (8000) Ashkandor (18000)
Once you get Mageslayer, you will have enough lifesteal (20%) or lifesteal+armor to not worry about damage much. Which one to get depends entirely on who you are fighting. Regarding Boots of Speed - get this if you are not getting Maim. Otherwise skip it and just use Wand when you need the speed boost.
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
Conclusion:
I only really threw BotS in the mix, so you don't need to worry about HP AND Mana on Regulus. The HP woe still remains, but it can be tackled either through lifesteal or through regen+armor. The mana issue is completely eliminated and allows you to spam two skills all the time from the start of the game - which I find nice.
Finally - if you have any constructive criticism, shoot. I do not think of myself as an uber regulus player - I usually play UB.
I haven't played a great deal of games, but I must commend you for trying to build Regulus without his infamous Mines. On the negative side, relying on an artifact is a hazardous choice at best, as many games don't last long enough to get one.
It's pretty decent even without the artifact.
The artifact is what makes you imba compared to most other demigods on the battlefield. And I don't neglect mines, but I don't believe mines are useful in all circumstances. As I stated - you really need to see what you are up against, and make the build based on that. Also - Maim is very debatable and depends on how you do in the early game. If your team manages to kill someone in the first moments of the game, it is probably better to get boots of speed, as that is equal to maim.
Definitely seems like it could work. There was a discussion about similar builds in http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348817, if you're interested in reading up.
Blade of the Serpent ftw
Good stuff.
I would replace at least Maim II and Maim III with stat upgrades. In most cases Scope II and Scope III as well.
Interesting choice on Narmoth's Ring - hand't concidered that myself.
Replacing BotS with Mard's Hammer or Furious Blade and then taking a hat of some sort (Scaled Helm in the beginning changing to better as needed) is also an option I think.
I agree that Maim can probably be dropped, but not for stat upgrades, rather for mines.
I have found that due to the splash damage and high DPS you have, it's very effective at keeping you healed. But for a more offensive demigod, Slayer's Wraps + Chainmail might be an alternative.
Yes, but if and only if you do not get any spammable skills. The idea of this build is to probably spam two skills constantly.
The point of this build seems to be that you have to spend no gold on mana items and can use BotS as your single item to keep your mana stable the entire game. I don't think a single helmet or even 2 can come close the the mana this favor item offers. Plus not having to waste slots on your character that you can now fill with damage/hp/lifeleach/attackspeed items.
Also Wand of Speed in combination with snipe scope III gives some awesome kiting power.
As a pretty good Regulus player I would not do either build you suggest. And do not care for most of the items you listed but then hey good luck if you win with it
Congratulations Sir, your post is absolutely useless. Please try again. And while you are at that, go look up the word "Constructive" in a dictionary, since obviously it is too hard for you to grasp.
Not to mention, rank 200 does not qualify as chestbeat-worthy in my book.
See, I can forumwhore too...
Well then if you paid attention I was the top ranked beta player and my 2 v 2 team did just win the 2 v 2 ESL tourney. Anytime you want to play your build vs a good regulus build I will gladly enjoy your rage quit.
I love two week player noobs that think they have this game mastered. It is people like you that get regulus killed in pantheon.
I would tell you the items to get and the proper build but you know much more then someone like me who has played this game for 9+ months.
Horseradish, you told projix his build was shitty and didn't even post yours. I'd love to try a build from someone who's played the game for 9 months, you could at least post your build too .
More proof read down a bit and see who plays a mean Regulus

Umm, so wanna post your elite build / item order?
Unlike you zombies that copy a build my build changes after level 6 everygame depending on who I am playing other DemiGods( types), War Rank, size of game(ex. 3 v 3), Gametype( conquest, slaughter, domination or fortress) and Arena
but since their are no replays I hate to post what I do (cause I am damn good at Regulus) but I will give you a good start without my secret items and favor items (you will have to wait for replays)
First item I always get is 550 mana helm then depends on game type and map rest of starting money could be these combo's
1. 2 teleport scrolls 2. mana and health potion 3. 550 armour 4. teleport scroll and health potion
2nd item of importance xp upgrade in citadel (War Rank 2) 1200 gold
3rd Item of importance Currency Upgrade (War Rank 3) 1800 gold
Lvl1: Snipe I (hint never stop sniping if you got mana snipe something preferably far away) It steals kills and gives you assist goldLvl2: Enhanced Attributes ILvl3: Explosive Mine ILvl4: Enhanced Attributes II
Lvl5: Explosive Mine IILvl6: Mark Of The Betrayer I
If I am ahead on levels I take Mark at level 5 if I am behind I take mines first. I prefer mines for killing more creeps faster and keep demigods away
Nicely said, no build should really be static, it should change depending on who you are up against, map, your team mate, etc.
I will usually change who I choose to play with depending on what my opposition is. I always wait until everyone is readying up before I make my final choice.
I've never really played Regulus so I have no real idea on what to get / what not to get. However, your build is different than anything I've seen for him so far. Usually people go AF, scope, or snipe right away. I'm guessing you kite a lot ( which all Regulus players and really any ranged DG should do to some extent ). I can see the potential for your build with mines and kiting.
If you assist a kill from across the map you get 250 gold +50 per level if you steal a kill from across the map you get $500 gold +100 per level (I am a notorious kill stealer but I usually get citadel upgrades when I steal kills cause mostly I am looking for the assist)
I will kite something every 15 seconds I never let a skill go unused or idle for long
Ok I could also totally flame the build for suxxor...but I won´t. Instead I like the challenge of finding a good auto-attack regulus build^^
I´d totally skip the mana favor item and get 15% ms item and boots of speed as first item. As it is a glass cannon build you really wanna abuse range and speed so I´d focus on those two. With sniper´s scope and movespeed as top prio. +dmg as 2nd prio and 3rd prio being hp.
You really want a heavy mana regen item on an auto-attack build? The way I´d play this build would be to most of the game abuse my range and speed to auto-attack harassing ppl down, you know go forward hit once twice and back of before they get a chance to return the favor, and finish them off with snipe or chase.
I´ll leave it at that but there is more I would wanna change. NO BotS and fury as secondary. Focus on maim, snipe, scope and stats.
Yeah, I'm an autoattack Reg player and I dont like these builds at all.
The strength of an autoattack Reg comes from a combo of AF and EA IMO. These dont take EA until very late, which is a mistake in my mind. You should be pounding AF and EA hard. One point in Snipe at level 3. Sniper Scope I is decent, but not that early - its good for tower attacks of course, but its just not an effecient use of your time to be doing much with towers until you reach a mugh higher level. I wouldnt go beyond Sniper Scope I personally. I also think that you go Maim a bit early in many cases. Its more of a supplemental skill, so I like to wait a pretty long time to get it.
Reg isnt a huge mana user. You just dont need to worry that much about mana even spamming AF and using snipe. Simply equipping a Vlemish Helm will get you by in terms of mana just fine I've found. I wouldnt waste a favor item just to take care of mana. I'm certainly not an expert on which favor items to use (been hit by the bug too much to have tons of experience with them), but I like Mard's Hammer and even Swift Anklets if I see that the other team has UBs.
I'm also a little nervous about builds that require multiple artifacts to really shine. Most games are over by then.
I discussed the Snipe theory craft advantages and disadvantages here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348964
sadly, it turns out to be theorycraft, because Scope doesn't provide enough range for Regulus to actually leverage the advantage meaningfully.
I'd stick with maim and stat up instead of scope upgrades; ymmv
And yes, as is consistently pointed out (in my own thread, and as I have mentioned in some of the TB and Sedna threads), it's better to win faster and sooner than at the end of all time. That said, sometimes you DO get a good match that lasts and lasts... (that is to say, isn't totally one sided) and so it IS still good to have a long term plan... rather than be at that point and totally flounder.
While I respect accomplishment, I've never been impressed with kids who need to trash talk to "prove" that they're badass. The classiest players are confident enough in their own abilities that they can talk about their accomplishments without trying to put others down at the same time. I'm enjoying reading about the various theories here and I hope the conversation can continue without turning into a smack talking flamefest designed to prove who's got the biggest dick.
I'm a curious noob, what's UE? I don't see any skill that maps to that acronym.
Lol, that should be EA. I have no idea why I went insane for a little bit and switched EA to UE.
lol @ horseradish
For someone who is supposed to be good you sure do like to pat yourself on the back. What an attentionwhore...Also, protip: Attitude is a lot more important to normal people, than someone being better at moving pixels from A to B.Memorize this, and you might get somewhere in life.
Either way, this is just a "way" to fit BotS into Regulus, nowhere is it stated that this is the only/right way to play it.But what can you do when some nerds take a game too seriously
Projix, horseradish posts in all the regulus guide topics about how they suck hahaha
Regarding the guide, have you tried the trinket that gives 15% chance for 250 damage lighting strikes? The +600 mana goes well with the favor item choice, and its more than a 2x crit if you get it early. I think it makes me farm creeps a lot faster too, and pays for itself. I usually start with banded armor and the cheapest attack gloves, then get the lightning trinket and boots of speed (or wand if you prefer). Any thoughts?
HorseRadish is an elitist that is why he has been playing for 9 months and only has 4 karma.
