I need a little help on a modding problem. every time i try to mod gameinfo files, then load the mod the game crashes and i get a pop-up saying mini-dump saved, has anyone else encountered this and figured out how to get around it?
under windows xp you will find it in:
C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Username"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\debug
maybe some of these folders are hidden by default.
i'll try it, i'm not at my pc atm i'm using my schools but i'll give it a look (+1karma from me )
the two folders after the "your username" are by default hidden folders, and you need to unhide the hidden folders, but as tohklidan showed the xp path but the differences for vista/windows 7 are the initial folder which us "Users", and the two folders after the user name which are '\AppData\Local\' ,giving C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\debug\

still have a problem with the dreaded mini-dump i tried that method (I have XP) all i'm trying to do is mod a capital ship stats and abilities just to wet my feet before i try a massive mod, i've been working on it in the developer (in the mod tool set) to see if i can iron it out. it will run fine unmodded with the files i intend to mod in the mod folder (C:\Documents and Settings\hp_owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\mod-v1.15 [non-developer mod folder is ...\mod-v1.16]) but once the modded files are in i get the dreaded mini-dump. any ideas or "how to" tips to get past this?

I would also suggest checking the EXACT Case of Each of the lines against a similar ship & also watch out for missing spaces
I had helped a fellow modder with a similar problem in his mod and his problem was missing caps in particular positions of the line.
