Someone else had the problem from friends list. Instead of not being able to connect with a person while joining a game and getting the "you have been kicked" message. I just crash with this message instead.
Had an admin joining the game I crashed too, hopefully he noticed this!
Oh, and I'm on Time Warner Cable in central Texas.
So really, no fix for this for 3 days now? Seriously?
I really really want to take you guys and your efforts seriously...but if there was a serious flaw much of the weekend, where people were being crashed cuz they couldn't connect, I'd think that was a somewhat high priority to fix....especially when connection problems abound....
Only since the last patch i have somewhat of the same problem, its just when i fail 2 conect 2 some1from a custom game, the game crashes and sometimes even freeZes my cpu, which is well beyond what the game requires.
So I finally managed to connect to a game after a couple more crashes... I didn't change anything from the time i was getting those errors/crashes to actually being able to join and play a full game... not sure what the cause of all this is...
Is there somewhere I can get my money back? This is bullshit!
Yes you may get a refund, Stardock has a Gamer's Bill of Rights to protect gamers. Just contact sales, but from what I seen they are fully invested in getting their game to work correctly so I would wait it out if you do enjoy the game, but that is up to you.
I have just about given up on this game. I only attempted 2 games after this patch came out and both crashed, one as described in this thread and the other without any message.
Sammual
Identical problem here. Actually, I'm glad to see others having this problem, since I was terrified it was just my computer. I get the game lock-up when I try to join a game. Sometimes I can alt-tab out or ctrl-alt-delete to get to task manager; then just end Demigod and it drops to desktop just fine. But sometimes I have to reboot my entire computer. I get the exception list too usualy. This is new for me (since last patch I think).
yep, this same here...
So is this problem because of the connection issues? Or something different?
I'd be much happier if the "issues" were just connection related than "when connection fails i have to reboot the game".
Little concerned about the lack of response on this issue, 2nd patch it showed up, didnt happen with the original or 1st patch.
I'm newly having the same kind of problem than you are, but only since tonight.
More precisely I get a game freeze (with a said error log requiring popping out Task Manager to close) when I'm trying to connect to the last person in connecting log, which now always fails, instead of getting the usual failing to connect or booted from the NAT facilitator.
And once my game didnt recognize my account too, it was only transient though. Whether this is due to the fact that I have changed its name end of last week (another problem already discussed elsewhere) and it hasn't still been changed, I cannot know.
My game worked actually pretty well this weekend.
Original:Took alot of tries but could connect to pantheon up to 3v3 (very successful 2v2)
1st patch:Couldnt connect at all.
2nd patch:Can connect to skirmish (usually 2v2) not 3v3If "failure to connect" to player occurs, i freeze compeltely
Today, dont play demigod until fix
Ok
I played around a bit and it appears that I get the error every time I get a failed to connect to player (xxxx) as others have stated.
So now my question, is this something that could potentially have to do with my router? I know i have a fairly sophisticated Sonic Wall router, so is there some features in there that might be causing this inability to connect to certain players while still connecting to others?
Thanks
Tonight there seems to be connection problems. When me and my friend do connect, we both connect with all AI. So just open the ports (6100 6200 6073) and uncheck the block WAN requests or ping filtering under security and you should be good. Most of the problems are on the game side but we all know they're working hard on fixing these issues so we can all play the awesome game they created
I played around a bit as well. I have comcast cable in new england. I've tried direct connect to modem, along with router. Router as in all forwarded ports along with being in DMZ, SPI firewall disabled along with UPNP.
There is uniquivacally something wrong with this game as far connecting to multiplayer. That being said, Frogboy seems to be on the job. I'd still like to see something that says "Hey, we know when you cant connect to player you crash" but hey, what do i know.
Do i hope patch #3 actually works? Do i dare?
It'll either work, or it'll format your harddrive. One of the two.
i got it to work by logging into impulse while gaming
Add me to the list. Since the last patch, the game has been freezing up on me quite frequently. I can't even ctrl+alt+del or alt+tab out of the game, just have to reboot Windows. Just tried to do Pantheon, and both times it froze right after I failed to connect to one of the players--where I usually get the disconnected from game message. Had to reboot twice and I am now giving up.
This problem was non-existent before the latest patch. And I'm a little more frustrated now that I haven't seen a response to this thread.
Really having a hard time with this game lately and can't enjoy it at all.
I get a different error each time. It also seems be after a fail to connect to somebody (which is normally the same person, who i have played half a dozen games with all ready)

We believe we have fixed the main issue reported here (crash on cancel of game/quit game while trying to connect). This fix will be in the next released update. There may be issues with other root causes that are not fixed; please report these in a separate post if you continue to see problems after the next update.
Awesome, thanks for the update! BTW, I don't know if this helps everyone or not, but last night I didn't have any issues with this and the only thing that changed was that the Impulse client updated. I usually just have it running in the background in the system tray and didn't get a notification about an update, so I don't know how long it's been out. I just by chance opened it up to see if I could contact support via the client, and then it immediately started doing an update.
I played 3 Pantheon games last night with a couple disconnects with no crash. Could mean nothing, but thought I'd bring it up!
I know some people can't CRL ATL DEL or ALT TAB when the game freezes, but I've always been able to. Maybe it's cause I have vista? But yeah, still get disconnects at start and stuff, so annoying. 1 out of 4 games have all humans in it for me.
