This is probably covered in other thread, but man the search function just sucks.
So items like the Plenor Battlecrown give 70%Mana per Second.
What does this mean? Does this mean you get 70% of your mana pool back every second? As in 2 seconds and your mana is restored. I don't think this is how I've seen it work.
Does it mean you get 70% of your existing mana back every second? So Mana regens slowly when its low, and very quickly when it's high? This is more in line with what I've seen it do.
Does it just mean mana regen is increased by 70%? If so, how come it doesn't just say that?
And how does one easily compare the +% mana per second with the +X Mana per second?
What it means is that it increases your MPS (mana per second) rate by 70%. Therefore, if you had a base MPS rate of say 10, it'd be increased to 17.
It *doesn't* give you 70% of your total mana back per second, nor is it affected by how much mana you have.
Why doesn't it say "increases mana regeneration by 70%" I do not know.
Generally, early game you want items that increase your mana per second, then go for % per second ones later.
wow ... it does what it says it does, not something else...
there are few demigod who specced in a certain way "could" use TONS of mana, if they had it
only stacking mana per sec isnt enough, using both mana per sec AND mana rate % give a major boost (if those stats are working correctly)
what it says is ambiguous. And if you take it literally it's absurd. (and also doesn't agree with experience) please come back when you have something constructive to add.
It seems peculiar that most of the early and mid game items at % MPS, and the later game items add +X MPS.
Just my thoughts.
you must be very new to english.... it says +70% mps .... if you have 10 mps suddenly you now have 10 + 7. either you suck at reading or your brain is broke...
What Liort said is correct. 70% mana per second means that it increases your rate of mana per second by 70%. In the early game, usually your mana per second number is low. That means a % increase to your mps doesn't really help you much. You're better off getting an item that adds a + to mps. Late game as your + mps number goes up, a % increase actually gives you more regen.
That said, where the % items really shine is when you stack it with other items that add large amounts to your + per second. There are some favor items that give you a good bonus early on to your + per second, then you can stack a % item on top of it. This can give you mad regen skillz early on.
HA!
BMPS = base mana per second
PMPS = increase mana per second %
AMPS = straight increase to mana per second
FMPS = final mana per second
BMPS(1 + PMPS) + AMPS = FMPS
(BMPS + AMPS)(1 + PMPS) = FMPS
So, which formula is it? Or possibly some other less straightforward formula involving total mana, level, and so on.
I would like some clearification on this. To a newbie like me, it isn't obvious what is better when for what Demigod. + or %. Do regen rates differ for each Demigod?
Seemed pretty clear to me..
It's something cost effective if you already have 20mps, but not good if your mps is only 10.
Elementary Math.
Press c and hover over mana to see your current MPS. You can figure out what is best to buy after that. =]
This is a better question..
It is base+mps items+% last.
Multipliers are added last on all formulas in DG afaik.
