Well, i've wasted an entire HOUR of my life to TRYING to connect to a custom game with my friend. And it still won't work. Not due to me, no. Not due to my friend, no. We have our ports open, everythings beautiful.It's the people that arent aware of that (and don't think im blaming them). Thank you Stardock for wasting an hour of my life. And possibly more last night when I tried to find another game.This is what happens when you release a game that isn't complete and won't work as intended.Sales@stardock, here I come. I expect a refund as well.As someone that just isn't some kid with time to waste, this distgusts me.

yeah, you should stick with the game. This is basically paying to beta test right now, but once its fixed this game will rock, and the prices will get a bit higher. Stay with it, or at least leave it downloaded and not get a refund. You will be glad later i think.

I really dislike the fact everyone has come on here and insulted me for no good reason, when i've done nothing but be truthful. I didnt even cuss out the makers of the game or be malicious.We're all gamers, and we're also all consumers.
Listen to kstampy and get game ranger: http://www.gameranger.com/ takes like a few minutes to install and works like a charm. They are working on patching up the multiplayer so it will work as well as game ranger. You have nothing to lose but a few minutes setup. Simple as that.

Try FORWARDING your ports, not simply having them open (yes, there's a difference). As already stated, go look in the thread that has the Monk's guide. It will explain what you need to do.
And expect people to insult you if you come on here insulting Stardock. Trust me: the company wasn't on a mission to waste your time. Don't take problems you're having with the game personally.

Damn Stardock is the No.1 company I know so far!
Bought four of their games so far (sins / sins entrenchment / galactic civilisations ultimate bundle and Demigod) and each time the game was worth SO MUCH MORE than its cost!
Not to mention the BEST CUSTOMER SUPPORT ON THE PLANET and the constant updates to insure that the game is always balanced and fun to play!

If you don't get a refund and the game is just gonna sit there for the rest of your life, how about passing it along to someone who WILL play it. PM your email address and the serial number of the game to me and I'll play the game so you won't have to. That way your money won't be a complete waste.
Can I just remind everyone that these forums are for all customers and you should treat other posters with respect.
I have no ports open and I can connect with people I know who also have no ports open... Just fine. And no, I will never DMZ my machine. I don't know what this game was designed to do that causes so many problems in multiplayer connections but it is really bad.
And just because a few of us have less problems then some other people doesn't give the excuse that they are just dumb. The game should function perfectly well for majority of people no matter what. Companies need to take examples from blizzard with SC, WC3, and such to design propler multiplayer experience. You can't host custom WC3 games if you don't have ports open.. but you can join them NO PROBLEM. And the games aren't hosted on any servers... Ladder matches are to prevent exploiting and keep track of progress (but thats how it should be.. if you play in the ladder or ranked whatever the games need to be tracked and managed by the server).

Dude, Blizzard is able to wait as long as they like to release games because they're f'king loaded man. Not every developer has that luxury, and has to make compromises. Ever heard the term "starving artists"?
Most companies don't continue to support their games though, and are only interested in the cash. Those are the bad guys.
Stardock isn't like that though. Give this game a week or two and just relax a bit. It's going to be ok.
