Some thing need to be done about rage quitting.
Every time I lose, I stay in it until I lose it. It will go on my record. But, every time I win, the other side quit out and that battle will not count. Now that means it will lead to continuous stack on my lost record, and it is quite annoying to look like a noob who lost so many times when you didn't.
Or I could just not care about ranking and accept it as a flaw of the game.
However, I feel honest/last stand gamers should be rewarded, not punished.
Comment and opinions?
(and to complete a cycle of every new game's problem on ranking & rage quit, this thread was made)
TBH i agree, its the idea of not being able to find out why u died which makes me rage.
they need to implement something which enables u to see what items they have equiped!
Need to throw an apology to my teammate in a 2v2 yesterday afternoon, we were doing well and then I kept getting phonecalls and hassled by people in real life and got killed like 10 times, then had to quit out because my wife was wigging out over some duck that had been hit by a car. Sorry guy whose name I can't remember.
Or if your oposing team quits, leaving only AI, it should give you an auto-win, aswell as a loss for them. This is otherwise going to be a Battle.net all over again. As for hanging on until the end... I played a 3 hour long match, 2v2 against my buddy, each getting an AI. Let me tell you, it's not over until it's over! The bastad snuck behind my lines, capped my spawn flag, CAPLOCKED it, and proceded to rape me with my own spawner. And I had his citidel past 3/4 down!
I vote for some surrender button, like a team vote (if all your teammates are agree you surrender) and some penalities for leavers (but it's always hard to see the difference between a leaver and a disconnect, and since the connexion system isn't really stable...).
But you know that in some games you can fight back? Last night done a game with a friend (2vs2) on crusible, during 3/4 of the game we were loosing, our citadelle vas under 50% hp but... we fight back and finaly win the game! (1h30 of epic battle) It was more because of other teams errors (wrong stuff/build, there was a rook who wasnt able to dps/tank) but it was gorgeus. First time I was full stuffed with rares items, at the end we were 2 killing machines
Ahh I miss good the old PERMABAN for leavers threats in DotA.
Needs a forfiet option I agree.
I never played Dot Gab, what was the "permaban for leavers threats"?
in DotA, game hosts (who were often members of influential organized play clans) could ban a player's IP so that player could never connect to one of their hosted games again. alot of the DotA clans were/are very competitive and rankings oriented so having a game win credit get screwed up by disconnects would make them very angry.
People get butthurt they're getting roflstomped and rage quit all the time in all sorts of games. At this point I'm not taking any of it too personally since people still suck hard and there are connection issues outside of peoples control. Soon enough someone will make a banlist for the game and all will be solved.
If you've got a tender vag then don't play mulitplayer games. It's as simple as that.
The only time that I have contemplated quitting was last night.
I was given the following scenario:
3 Humans vs Me and 2 bots in the capture the flags mode.
Not only does it suck having bots on your team, but they have no settings to change them from one mode to another, so they just like to go attack the enemy base instead of capture the flag...
I have only been able to play 4 games online so far, but no one has quit out, even in a 1v1 where I was the beast and the other guy was the torchbearer - He was on the back foot for the entire game (which lasted almost an hour) but he didnt quit. I guess I have been lucky.
I'm not a bad loser, because I lose plenty to people who aren't utilizing some sort of ridiculous OP bullshit, and I'm totally cool with it.
To answer your other question, I only have access to an extremely low favor item that does next to nothing. I figure this dude equipped some ridiculous OP favor item, and gets his jollies "winning" (cough) by using it. Personally, I think the idea of favor items is quite stupid, and I'd ban them if it was up to me. But it isn't up to me, so....
I leave when the teams become uneven or it's obvious that one team is going to win. I don't see any need to stick around and play the role of the loser for the sake of the winning team.
The ideas of favor items is extremely stupid... especially since anyone right now can go into their files and give themselves as much favor points as they feel like. And yeah, I've always stuck around if I'm losing as a courtesy to the other players but I don't see any problem with quitting if it is 40 minutes into the game and the other team outlevels, outplays, and is pretty much besieging you. I don't like how it doesn't count as a lost if you quit, because that just screams for people to "rage-quit." I also think if one side leaves the other side should get the win. When the outcome is pretty much final, being forced to play the final 10 minutes can be as annoying as the n00b who constantly builds supply depots all over the map after he lost just to piss you off in StarCraft.
it IS up to you. Make your own custom game disabling favor items. Oh wait thats right you boycotted custom games for unknown reasons.
Again, sore loser and childish. I can't have it my way so I'm taking my toys and going home. I couldn't even begin to count the number of DotA games where it seems like it's completely over and the underdog team pulls it out. I've won a game that ended up 5v2 (me and a friend were the 2) they had mega creeps inside of 20 minutes. Game went on 40 more minutes till we pulled it out and won. Crazy things can happen when it looks the worst. But if you want to be a cry baby then go ahead. But don't be surprised if in 6 months no one will play with you since you're a leaver.
They probably aren't the people he (or I) want to play with anyway, so it's a good mutual screening mechanism
Hope you like playing bots then =P Oh wait you do.
If "bots" means "not you or people like you," then yeah - I love playing bots.
You don't like playing skilled people you can learn from? You enjoy playing the computer that is horrifically awful in every way? You keep getting sand in your vag and leaving games and words going to get around. Especially if someone makes banlist for this game. You'll get shitlisted in a hurry.
Please, I beg you to make a list like this right now, and put my name at the top. I honestly don't want to play with you or your ilk. Ever. Please blacklist me now.
I actually wanna play with you just to get a shitload of favor I won't ever use. You know, stomp you into the ground and laugh.
I quit if it lags all the time.
And every game lags.. so i've quit pretty much every game. :/
People with less than 2 sim speed shouldn't even be allowed to play online.
Lag hasnt been a huge problem for me lately. Ping does more for lag than sim speed in my experience. People think 300 ping is alright and it is NOT. 150 is my cutoff in DotA and I usually adhere to the same number here. If i'm in a good mood i'll let you get away with 200, anything more and you're booted. Usually have no problems now.
Until the connection and disconnection issues are corrected, any kind of penalty for quitting the game is going to penalise a lot of innocent players. Once these issues are fixed, I'm all for punishing quitters.
You learn a lot more from losing than you do from winning.
I quit anytime we have a feeder in the first few minutes. There's no excuse for a guy just running up and dieing. The game is essentially over. The other ones is when the game is lost. I say "GG you win" and leave. Just like in WC3, you don't purposely prolong a loss imo.
Devs, this needs to be addressed. A simple button for "surrender" would help. Or if all the human AI quits, then the other team auto wins. (that could be taken advantage of but not if the losing team that quit takes a lose for the match)
