Listen, we're on these boards because we're passionate about this silly game. We spend far too much time on tihs. We get upset. Who can blame us?
We have spent money. About $40 each on it, so it is not at all unreasonable to expect things to go right. I'm not letting you guys off the hook, Stardock or Gas Powered Games.
So, a lot is wrong, but much is this close to being right.
Get multiplayer working! It is the backbone of this game.
Once it is more stable, fix the bugs! They detract tremendously from the fun (Read: Favor Points) - they can unduely swing the tide of battle!
Better errors! Let us know what could be wrong, so we can fix it, but the truth is that is a tall order. I've commented on tihs before, but asking so many to checking portforwarding.com, which neither Stardock nor Gas Powered Games has anyting to do with, is a bit of a reach.
To those 8 year olds who tell me to shut up, please consider that option for yourselves!
Please - let all of us love this game as much as we're trying to!
Totally agree i dont have as much time as i like to play online but had a 2v2 today and what a blast !!!
Its so close to being great and i believe it will be .
They are working on the connection stuff (I hope it will be better ).
Gas Powered Games is informed about the favour point bug and will fix this one, too.
Maybe you want take a look at the status updates from Frogboy/Draginol (same person). He describes the current problems and tells something about ETA to fix this.
But I can understand your opinion. Let´s hope they will find those evil code fragments fast
I dont understand what you are proposing here.
What perhaps many of us are trying to say, some articulately and some less so, is when we post errors or frustrations or bugs onto these boards, please take it in the spirit that most, if not all of us, mean it.
Sometimes we're angry (having just spent 25 minutes this afternoon trying to get onto a Pantheon match I can feel that way!), sometimes we've made a breakthrough and think we can help others get over the same hump we've been stuck on. Sometimes we're wondering why the heck things work they way the do (or don't!).
So, especially to those of you who work for Stardock or Gas Powered Games, be thrilled with the activity on these boards. But like the ebb and flow of a good Demigod battle, if the tide eventually turns against you these battles won't matter much if the war is a failure.
Stick with it. We have entrusted you with our money! Don't dimish that. I gave you a lot of money out of my pocket. From me to you. I gave that to you the same way I give it to my supermarket for grapes or turkey or dog food. But when I walk out of the store, I have what I bought.
Too many seem to feel that buying a product called a computer game lets the vendor off the hook for a few days. Or weeks. Or even months. I understand that there are a lot of moving parts, but to those developers who read these boards and those who continually say "give them a break! shut up!", I say this: Why don't I deserve the food I purchased from my supermarket? I do. So stop yelling at me for wanting what I paid for up front.
