The master of creating games without a story that leaves players asking who cares. 98 percent of the people that have purchased this game are already bored or concerned about caring past tomorrow. This is a classic Chris Taylor problem and he should not be the lead on a game... he is great a mechanics and awful on story/evecution. Can you say Space Siege, cause this is where the game is heading.
I tend to agree. Chris Taylor seems to get gameplay concepts and mechanics mostly right, but is not so good at giving a game substance. Space Siege, Dungeon Siege, now Demigod...all have that issue.
Demigod shows promise mainly because it doesn't require a lot of substance to still be fun and worth playing. Action RPGs like the Siege games feel terribly vapid because of the lack of substance.
I don't mind that there isnt a story or that there isnt much to the single player game. But given the emphasis on multiplayer, why was that botched so much. Everything about getting a game together is atrocious - from the game lobby, to the chat, to the setting up of the game. WTF?

I actually liked the story in Total Annihilation quite alot. Supreme Commander had a halfway decent story as well, but TA was admititly better.

The demigods have pretty elaborate (and well-written) backstories, so I don't see a reason why these backstories could not have been fleshed out a little more, in the game itself.

I lovvvvveeeed TA. Story was meh, but gameplay made up for it.
98% are bored?? LIES! 5 out of 6 of my friends have the game and me and them all enjoy it alot. 5/6 is not 98% bud.
Im loving this game personally. I dont need a story mode for Team FOrtress2, COunterstrike or Demigod. Go play a game that specializes in deep storys
This game has extremely deep gameplay and characters. Only think i think could be better it MORE MAPS and the first few days after laucnh where rough on me connecting ot games, but today and yesterda its been flawless for me to join games online.
I am enjoying this game tons and will support it for a long time to come, and im sure im not hte only one.
Around %5 are having problems bud, its not everyone.
