Two problems have been recurring for me the last few days in Pantheon (don't play anything else).
First, when it finds everyone has connected and loads, about 1/5th of the time I hear the "player has left" and when I get in the game, everyone have disconnected from me and I am now facing bots. This happens as the game has just finished loading the map. Either something happens at this time, or the connections weren't as stable as they should be.
Secondly, even though the game is supposed to be P2P to avoid such a problem as this, sometimes when one player leaves or is disconnected, everyone else will drop as well. It's not me leaving, and yet the game treats it as such. I know I didn't REALLY get disconnected, because these guys often say something like GG before they leave.
Sounds suspiciously like my own problem as seen here http://forums.demigodthegame.com/347033
Give it a look, and try to download the mentioned programs (ping plotter and some bandwidth monitor). Run a few games with these in the background. Once you encounter you're error check to see if there is any similarity (namely upload saturation destroying your connection). If there is we can compare out location/setups/ISP's to try and find a common variable and narrow it down perhaps.
Same only recently I'm having maybe 1 in 8 games where I hear Player has Left, and I find myself vs all AI's... I haven't had this problem until yesterday night.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have never had any connectivity issues with any game online ever on this computer/router/internet provider/etc...
Is this actually useful to people at stardock? Official word?
I'd like to this so. Its a lot easier to find the cause of a problem with more evidence for comparison.
For example, if it turns out everyone on a specific ISP was having these issues, Stardock could simply contact the ISP in question and investigate...but if we don't compare these things it could take much longer to find out whats causing it. *shrug*
We can't do much to help, but we can do what we can.
Yeah, that's kind of why I am asking. Will the info actually be used, Stardock?
Pittsburgh / DSL Modem is also a Router / Verizon DSL
And it appears that the disconnect it at my Modem / Router to my PC. My wife is still connected when I get dumped and have to reboot to regain Internet connection. I will have to see if my Router has some sort of flood control that I can turn off.
