Hello!
I bought today ObjectDock plus. But every time I start OD, my explorer crashs in different time intervals!
The reason are 2 entries on those the shell probably access!
My system: Windows Vista Ultimate x64
I hope u can help me
P.S: Sry for my bad english ^^
the two entries are:
"Dock64.dll" and "RSZShell64.dll"
The Error message from a explorer crash dmp is:
*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for Dock64.dll - *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for RSZShell64.dll -
and thats all?
It dosent work for 64bit?
And why do it install a 64bit libary like dock64.dll and RSZShell64.dll?
EDIT: I read a lot of people use it on 64bit... and there it works correctly!
Found here in the product description: "System tray will not currently work on 64-bit versions of Windows, but they do work with Windows Vista, including the new "Special" tray icons in Vista"
There is some "small" issues with Object Dock Plus / Vista. Example, we tried 3 weeks with Stardock tech support to solve a reason, why i get "error message" after every launch, that Object Dock has recovered.... some settings, but this will only apply, if something goes wrong on (very) first start.
Contact Stardock support, so they can trace/track your issue. Even mine is not corrected, but i found simply solution, when i read these posts. You just need to quit Object Dock Plus, before restart. But in your case, i am not sure.
But, you paid (even if it is part of subscription or not) so you can ask help, if you don't find help from this forum or google, ask help from Stradock support. This will help everyone, on next release.
I was offered money back, but because it came with additional subscription - offer was few bucks.... so i will exit or click ok, after every restart. Instead nothing. Because i like the program, and it will work just fine... for me.
That "Ok" Button or quit before restart is not so awful, lol....
It's really nice to see someone with less than "100% or nothing" demands...who also lets us see the nice and proper way Stardock sales handled it also. ThePhantasma...I'm giving you karma for the mature way you handled the problem and the way you posted it.
Maybe you'll also luck out and a 'fix' will be made before your subscription ends. I hope Stardock might also make a special gesture in your case for the good way your post was made.
It know it wasn't an easy thing to go through in English.
doc
Every time if OD is running, the explorer crashs permanently... a restart bring nothing...
Is there an official date for 64bit?
Thx for ure help...
I think i fixed my Problem...
Not the most elegant solution, but ok
1. Install OD...
2. delete the "Dock64.dll" and "dock64.exe"
Now the OD starts in 32 bit and not in the 64bit modus!
U see it in the taskmanager!
